How is it that 'Internet Explorer has encountered a problem
and needs to close" when it isn't even running?

(And I'm sure you are "sorry for the inconvenience." Now, blow me.)

1. I hate that.
I always hit "Send Error Report," hoping it ends as a pain in someone else's ass.

5. It's the least you can do.
Well, maybe "micro" only rates a cuppa coffee (or in my case, tea).

But it's called "empathy." Where the rest of the world offers empty promises and platitudes, I offer the real thing. O8)

But people who've never had c-pox could get it from me. But shingles are non-contagious for everyone else (who's had the c-pox).

I think you're safe. Or is that the other way around? :silly:

42. You've prolly heard that old joke
about the kid who goes to the movies for the first time and comes home and tells his mom it's a lot like church.

"How's that, dear?"

"Well, in church they sing 'Stand Up, Stand Up for Jesus,' and at the movies they say 'For God's sake, sit down!'"

43. Yeah,
but I don't remember people being that polite at movies anymore. :(

I like the one where the pastor is talking to the kids during Children's Time, explaining the resurrection of Jesus, and his appearance to his disciples that evening. "The room was locked, and all the disciples were gathered together. Suddenly Jesus appears, and do you know what he said to them?" A little girl looks up, smiles, and says "Ta-Daa!"

39. It's there ...

Getting rid of it is extremely complicated. Various components of it are integral to network connectivity on a Windoze based machine, especially XP, and other programs will essentially attach themselves to it when they are running. You can be having a problem with one of those programs, and it will manifest itself via an error message regarding IE.
