Definitive proof - there ARE Republicans in SF!
About 1/2 hour ago I took this photo of a house in my neighborhood here in SF. They recently just repainted. Don't you just love the color scheme? Note the US flag in window and the Newsom sign. During the recall (before the lovely :puke: new paint job) they had a similar sign up for Ahnuld.

FYI: The picture has not been altered except to obscure the street sign. The roof and *MATCHING TRIM* are GREEN, the walls are bubblegum PINK! Yes, they painted the roof!

1. My aunt and uncle live is SF
and they are by far the most reactionary conservatives in a family full of them. They make Cheney and Co. look like a bunch of commies :scared:

3. Barf
I can't believe Newsom would pull those smear tactics against Gonzalez. The e-mail was so stupid.

7. EEEEEEEEWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
My God, that hurts my eyes too much to look at it for more than two seconds! Are they visually impaired, or what, I cannot believe anyone could even consider that, lol! Of course, they ARE repukes, I suppose that explains a lot.

10. Who is Newsom and why ...
is the NDN http://www.newdem.org/newsom/ endorsing him ? I assumed him to be (R), but now I'm all confused (shit that didn't take much). I could find no mention of his party affiliation.

Or could the NDN just be a front to lure unsuspecting Dems to support a repuke.

Cheers
Drifter

11. Newsom is running for mayor of SF
He's the 'conservative' on the ticket, though he's a Dem. A republican would have virtually no chance of winning in SF. The whole political spectrum is shifted to the left here. (as it should be) :) SF politics can be confusing for outsiders...

13. That gives me a whole new appreciation of the Victorian PURPLE
house in my neighborhood (located on the street that we refer to as Easter Egg Row). Everything is purple. The house and trim are painted in various shades of purple. The plantings have purple foliage and/or bloom purple. The seasonal decorations are purple. One car is purple. They even got a purple collar for the dog!

Purple is such a funny word isn't it?

14. Am I on crack or is that...
San Bruno mountain in the background???

I'm really glad that house is a few blocks away because that would be just too damn ugly to look at every day!

One thing I have always loved about SF is the colorful houses we have here -- go to too many other towns and it is nothing but b-o-r-i-n-g tan/brick/blue/bleck.

Unfortnately, with all that glorious color comes tragic mistakes like this. It's enough to make your eyes bleed.

15. Ouch!
Good heavens, why do the paint stores even sell such an abomination? Reminds me of what they did to the hospital and its parking garage in our small town - now, mind you, this is the largest building in town and a five-story parking garage in the middle of downtown - they painted them screaming violet. It quite literally hurt the eyes. People driving by complained they were nearly having accidents when they came around the corner and were confronted by that monstrosity.

They've since repainted to a somewhat more neutral color, at great expense. Now, I'm no fan of all houses being the same blah beige, but some colors do not belong on large expanses of wall - they're just too painful. If your colors make your fillings ache, your individuality has gone too far.

16. Ah, pepto-bismol pink and institutional green
The hallmark of the truly color-blind. As for republicans in SF, shouldn't they be in the zoo so everyone can see what they look like?

17. The thing that really gets me - they painted the roof tiles!
I've never seen anyone paint roofing tiles before. It's just weird!
