Get something you really like that for you is timeless.

16. Haha, oh, don't worry, I'd never get a trendy tattoo.
I'm just curious as to what the trendy tattoo style is these days.

23. Every sorority girl/frat boy in the universe seems to have tribal tattoos
so Nay. They can look neat on people, and I don't have a problem with the design in and of itself really, but I think if everyone has one then what's the point? May as well just get a "Taz" tattoo, or a "Calvin pissing on (insert rival football team logo here)" then.

I just think that in general, if you're going to get a tattoo it should mean something to you outside of "I want one and it looks cool." I'm a curmudgeon that way, I guess.

And yeah, I have tattoos. I might even get more one of these days.

27. Thanks. One of them is a thistle design--it's just all black but I
want to find a way to add something around it. Maybe smaller thistles in color or something. I don't know. I haven't really thought too hard about what to add yet. There's no rush.

The other is a hummingbird on a cherry blossom branch with my grandma's name under it. I got the image from an old dictionary and, oddly enough, it turns out my grandma had almost the same image in her porcelain figurine collection (she loved little birds, she was little, it makes sense). I got the tattoo done just before she died while she was going though her last treatments for cancer. It hurt like a bitch, but I just kept thinking of what she must have felt like and then it wasn't so bad.

I know what I want. It's definitely not a tribal, haha. I was just stirring the pot a little.

29. I really liked the way some of these tattoos looked
before they became cliches. I think when you see them on everyone, they lose their uniqueness. I suppose the same could be said for the ubiquitous Celtic ones, the kanji symbols, etc. I like seeing unique and artistic ones, though.

note, I do not have any tattoos.
