Personally, I prefer multi-colored. They look so festive and not boring like white lights. White lights are more elegant, however, but that isn't the look I'm going for with our tree. What about you?

2. Either white lights
Or 2 or 3 colors tops, with each string being a single color. I like festive, but I don't like spastic, heh. My brother on the other hand likes to make his tree look like a rave threw up on it, and the lights flash freakishly fast with no discernable pattern. Could give someone seizures.

7. I don't do the flashing light thing.
I find them annoying and distracting. My aunt used to have a string that would play music.

3. Multicolored, if your house is warm colors, homey, etc.
White if it is cold, minimalist modernist nonsense.

:D

8. And my home is very homey.
It is very cluttered, but it is clean and very comfortable.

6. Early? No way!
We usually put the tree up on Thanksgiving night after our guests have gone home. This year we were too tired, so I put it up yesterday. I figure if I'm going to go to all the trouble of putting one up, I'm going to enjoy it as long as I can.

5. I like the multi-colored, but I don't decorate anymore
It's a pain in the ass, and with just me now I just don't bother with it.

It's our first Christmas in our new house, and we moved from a very small apartment. So we finally get a real Christmas tree this year, and I am going multi, baby!

14. Woo Hoo! Congratulations!
My husband and I just got a new house, but we can't move in until May, so next Christmas will be our first year there. I'm going to make him put lights all around the outside of the house and I'm going to buy a whole bunch of crap for the yard-just because I can! Enjoy your tree!
