For a $30 knife set, would you expect the handles to scratch easily?
They're this soft-grip plastic, which is rather nice... but they scratch very easily.
The included wooden holster had a few imperfections when taken out of the box too.
Still, the knives are sharp and it's useful... and I might be overreacting to a few inevitable imperfections. (I'm just glad Haier didn't make the set... they'll trash anything with even one dimple in i ...)
I have a set of plastic utility knives from Chicago Cutlery. They don't held up as well as the wooden gripped ones I have from Chicago...,but I didn't pay as much for them so I am okay with it.
