2. Even worse...
...one of Manson's songs is on a Beach Boys album. "Never Learn Not To Love", credited to Dennis Wilson, who was friends with Manson until the other Beach Boys told Dennis to stay away from him (a year before the Manson murders).

3. I said Let It Be but I like Abbey Rd. a lot too.
While my second child was being born, we played side two of Abbey Rd. She was born to "Here Comes the Sun."

7. That was the song I heard on the way to the hospital, LOL!
The radio played it, it was a terrific moment. I still tell my son it's "his" song.

6. I voted "Rubber Soul"
My father played it a lot when my brother & I were kids, and I can't think of a SINGLE bad tune on it!

10. Definitely the White Album
It's my favorite, though I don't think it is necessarily their "best." I identify with the songs more on this one than any other.

By the way, this is a cover illustration for the album that the Beatles ultimately rejected:

I'm voting on "impact"......."Meet the Beatles". If you were old enough today,to have run out to your local "Record Shop" to plunk down a princely $3.99..run-all-the-way-home..remove the cellophane wrapper in your bedroom....and listen for THE fIRST tIME !:wow: :wow: :yourock:

What's your favorite fingernail? I kind of like to have them all, they go together as a set.

14. "Rubber Soul" is still the best pop music album of all time. Even the song
Edited on Fri Feb-17-06 04:17 PM by bob_weaver
"What Goes On" which is the weakest track on the album, is still OK. Every other song on the album is a classic, and how many pop music albums can that be said of? The whole album works as a cohesive set of pup tunes. That can't be said of "Revolver" which goes in so many different directions it's like a scrapbook of what the Beatles were doing at that time. But the songs on "Rubber Soul" all fit together beautifully while each retaining their own quality.

15. "Rubber Soul"
I think it is their best overall album, song-wise. It just has a great feel to it. What's funny is the "butchered" American version actually better shows off this sound- it has more songs with that acoustic flavor because it includes "I've Just Seen a Face" and "It's Only Love" from the "Help!" album and omits tracks like "Drive My Car" and "What Goes on." It may be the one Beatles album where I actually prefer the American version, even though it features fewer songs.

"The White Album" is a favorite of mine, too. Like another poster said, it may not be the best song-wise, but there's just something very fun about its variety of styles. At this point, I've probably listened to it more than any other Beatles album.

And "Let It Be" is their most underrated, IMHO.

18. Live at the BBC
since I have the bootlegs on vinyl. The CD is missing a couple of songs but there's no better live band than the Beatles back when John was the leader.

close second would be any of the Ruttles records.
