I hate Exxon-Mobil, and I really wish that other companies would
provide a little doohickey like their Speedpass for buying gas. That is one handly little gizmo.

Just a little keyfob device that you can wave in front of the pump without having to dig out your wallet and such.

Oh well, I have one to use in emergencies, but I'll still go to Citgo first.

1. Mobil is also the only one where you can use your debit card at the pump
Everywhere else, you have to go in to do that.

Citgo and Marathon usually have the lowest prices around Detroit, Mobil and BP are usually a little higher. I've found it all depends on how much competition is around, and that Oakland County generally has higher prices than Wayne and Macomb, but that the cheapest gas in the Detroit area is generally found on E. 8 Mile, between Ryan and Dequindre.

2. Whaaa...??
I thought ANY gas pump that takes credit cards will take debit cards as well (hence the keypad). At least, all the ones I've visited in the past few years do--regardless of brand.

(this would be in NC, SC, and GA--maybe Detroit's different?)

3. I hate Exxon Mobil, too.
Ever since they cut off their sponsorship of Masterpiece Theatre, there have been breaks and fund drives through the shows.

4. I dig out my wallet while the gas man is putting the gas in.
Because I live in New Jersey. :)

Sometimes I'd rather do it when I'm in a hurry, but on days when it's 20 degrees out, I'm more than happy that our state has gas attendants.

6. My doohickey stopped working.
The message told me that my transponder was invalid ... or something like that. So I let harleydad fill up the car now. :hi:
