Hubby and I are renters but we have our own washer, dryer, fridge & stove. Well, a few months ago the fridge went out and we had to buy a new one--completely inevitable but still $400 we weren't expecting to have to shell out right then.
Then a few weeks later the dryer started shaking and whining and shimmying around. Now mind you, this dryer is older than *ME*, and I'll be 30 in a few weeks. It's harvest gold fer goodness' sake. The thing practically runs on diesel. But it's big as a house and is so efficient it can dry clothes BEFORE you put them in there :)
Anyway--we're totally freaking. Oh god. Gotta get a new dryer. What's THAT gonna cost? So we call a repair guy and he comes out and we're wringing our hands and gnashing our teeth at the estimate to repair..
dun dun dunnnnnnn
$80. Replaced a rotor or something. Put some oil somewhere. Said our dryer is "easy to fix" and that if we ever had probs in the future that it would be more cost effective to repair than to replace since the newer ones aren't as cheaply fixable as the old ones are.
We were like "Sweet!"
And it was at that moment that I realized I was a full fledged adult, my life flashed before my eyes, and I grew a patch of grey hair overnight.....
