My big toe HURTS!

I think it's an infected hangnail :(

It's swollen and red.

No, I don't want medical advice, I just want sympathy.

If it's still hurting on Monday I'll go see the doctor.

4. Yeah, fortunately it only really hurts if I wear my more snug fitting shoe
If I just wear slippers or my other shoes, it's fine. And like I say, it hasn't gotten any worse since last night, no better but no worse, so I'll give it another day before I actually get worried.

It is bothersome and sore though, just not like super pain, just a constant sore, kind of like a headache in my toe :)

6. Actually, if it starts getting all yellow and nasty,
it looks totally disgusting, but if you take it to the doctor at that point, they can get rid of it real quick and easy.

5. I know the feeling!
I broke my big toe two years ago. My whole foot turned black. It was awful.

10. I remember when I broke my leg years ago, I had one of those plastic
boot style casts that straps in place. Well, after all the healing time, my leg muscles were really atrophied and screwed up. This was back when high-top sneakers were the typical footwear.

As soon as I took off the cast and went back to shoes, my ankle would totally balloon up and turn purple around the top of the sneaker until I took it off and eleveated my foot. I could walk fine for an hour so, but then I had to sit and elevate my foot or my ankle would look like a balloon animal.

It was NASTY lookin :P

14. Hope your toe gets better soon.
If you do soak your foot, use lukewarm water, not hot. Hot water would cause your toe to swell.

Lars, who in the past year has lost every single one of her toenails. :o :hi:

16. Yes. Not at the same time, though.
Taxotere really did a number on them. Only one really hurt and I had that one taken off about a month ago. TMI :yoiks:

11. You should put some sort of neosporin on it
Peroxide first maybe, just to clean it off.

13. I tried that, but apparently nothing is exposed for it to interact with
Peroxide didn't even bubble, just ran off.

18. Hmm, maybe buy some neosporin ointment that will sink in.
Those toenail buggers can be painful.

19. Well, any purchases will have to wait until after the storm
My hatches are officially battened down until tomorrow evening :)

The snow hasn't yet begun, but I have no intention of fooling around in it tomorow or tonight.

20. Looks like it may be a bad one!
Stay warm up there. It is actually supposed to go below freezing in Orlando. Imagine that! It happens, every so often.

23. This is all because of Global warming!
More and stronger hurricanes, worse winter storms, warmest year on record, and a freezing day in Orlando.

These children were left behind by GWB!!

:D

It is, clearly, the only answer.

BTW you have my most profound and unutterably sincere sympathies.
