I started a thread that started the whole world crying,
But I didn’t see that the joke was on me, oh no.

I started to cry, which started the whole world laughing,
Oh, if I’d only seen that the joke was on me.

11. Have you ever heard shannonwright's cover of that tune?
Goddamn gorgeous.

And yeah, big thumbs up on pre-disco Bee Gees.

16. I haven't
but now I have an excuse to hear it. I've done "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart" at solo acoustic gigs in the past. It usually gets a few quizzical looks from random strangers. :D

18. Yeah, I liked them when they were a Beatles ripoff band
Edited on Thu Feb-09-06 05:07 PM by SouthoftheBorderPaul
Melody Fair and Lonely Days are classics.

Edit: That sounded a bit insulting to the BeeGees. Allow me to add that Barry Gibb is one of my favorite songwriters. Masterful.

7. I don't know if you care, but The Dirtbombs have a pretty good
version of that song going for them too.

8. Really? whoisalhedges probably has that, I'll ask him about it.
He's pretty big on the Dirt Bombs, and he's conveniently located.

Thanks for the tip. :hi:

12. Sure thing. It's on this 2 disc set they have out. Here's a link:
It's just to their website but it lists all the songs on the discs. Looks like it's singles plus some weird stuff that might not have made it to a record:

:hi: Enjoy

13. Hey, why not?
"Rushmore" resurrected one of my fave Kinks tunes. I don't think Anderson's doing a whole lot wrong with music.

17. "Run To Me" is one of my favorite sappy pop songs ever.
And pre-disco Bee Gees DOES kick arse, although I LOVE me some "Jive Talkin'", "Nights on Broadway" and "Fanny (Be Tender with My Love)".
