Black Sabbath.
Edited on Thu Feb-09-06 03:15 AM by Crazy Guggenheim
Iron Man

Has he lost his mind?
Can he see or is he blind?
Can he walk at all,
Or if he moves will he fall?
Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head?
We’ll just pass him there
Why should we even care?

He was turned to steel
In the great magnetic field
Where he traveled time
For the future of mankind

Nobody wants him
He just stares at the world
Planning his vengeance
That he will soon unfold

Now the time is here
For iron man to spread fear
Vengeance from the grave
Kills the people he once saved

Nobody wants him
They just turn their heads
Nobody helps him
Now he has his revenge

Heavy boots of lead
Fills his victims full of dread
Running as fast as they can
Iron man lives again!

2. The Wizard.
Misty morning, clouds in the sky
Without warning, the wizard walks by
Casting his shadow, weaving his spell
Funny clothes, tinkling bell

Never talking
Just keeps walking
Spreading his magic

Evil power disappears
Demons worry when the wizard is near
He turns tears into joy
Everyone’s happy when the wizard walks by

Never talking
Just keeps walking
Spreading his magic

Sun is shining, clouds have gone by
All the people give a happy sigh
He has passed by, giving his sign
Left all the people feeling so fine

Never talking
Just keeps walking
Spreading his magic

4. The Wizard I know is by Uriah Heep
He was the wizard
Of a thousand kings
And I chanced to meet him
One night wandering
He told me tales
And he drank my wine
Me and my magic man
Kinda feeling fine

He had a cloak of gold
And eyes of fire
And as he spoke
I felt a deep desire
To free the world
Of it’s fear and pain
And help the people
To feel free again

Why don’t we listen to
The voices in our hearts
¡®cause then I know we’d find
We’re not so far apart
Everybody’s got to be happy
Everyone should sing
For we know the joy of life
The peace that love can bring

So spoke the wizard
In his mountain home
The vision of his wisdom
Means we’ll never be alone
And I will dream of my magic night
And a million silver stars
That guide me with their light

3. Paranoid.
Finished with my woman ’cause she couldn’t help me with my mind
People think I’m insane because I am browning all the time
All day long I think of things but nothing seems to satisfy
Think I’ll lose my mind if I don’t find something to pacify

Can you help me thought you were my friend
Whoah yeah

I need someone to show me the things in life that I can’t find
I can’t see the things that make true happiness, I must be blind

Make a joke and I will sigh and you will laugh and I will cry
Happiness I cannot feel and love to me is so unreal

And so as you hear these words telling you now of my state
I tell you to enjoy life I wish I could but it’s too late

5. War Pigs.
Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of death’s construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah!

Politicians hide themselves away
They only started the war
Why should they go out to fight?
They leave that role to the poor

Time will tell on their power minds
Making war just for fun
Treating people just like pawns in chess
Wait ’till their judgement day comes, yeah!

Now in darkness, world stops turning
As the war machine keeps burning
No more war pigs of the power
Hand of God has sturck the hour
Day of judgement, God is calling
On their knees, the war pigs crawling
Begging mercy for their sins
Satan, laughing, spreads his wings
All right now!

7. I used to be a rock god...
okay, a minor rock demi-god, in a small town in the mid-Worst, back in the mid '70's...

I was actually managing an up-and-coming power trio (originals, mostly, with a few select covers), named after Saint Thomas More... for reasons I never quite understood, the local groupies thought I was hotter than the lead singer (the bassist and the drummer didn't count as they were locals who were STILL considered geeks even though they were now in a band)... we were rehearsing for our first REAL gig, in the theater/concerthall when the lead singer (okay, the only real singer) came down with a screaming case of strep/laryngitis... the other songs could be sung effectively by the other two band members, but neither of them could sing high enough, with enough vocal power, to do justice to "Paranoid", so I was pressed into service.

Rehearsals went surprisingly well, opening night was less than 12 hours away, and...

... the venue owner pulled some fiscal hoodoo, the town council pulled the permits, and, just like that, my "debut", wasn't... (sigh!):banghead:

I was already a Sabbath fan, but this made me love "Paranoid" more than ever... it's STILL on my Top-Ten All-Time list!

8. Black Sabbath rules!
:headbang:

Into the Void

Rocket engines burning fuel so fast
Up into the night sky they blast
Through the universe the engines whine
Could it be the end of man and time
Back on earth the flame of life burns low
Everywhere is misery and woe
Pollution kills the air, the land and sea
Man prepares to meet his destiny
Rocket engines burning fuel so fast
Up into the night sky so vast
Burning metal through the atmosphere
Earth remains in worry, hate and fear
With the hateful battles raging on
Rockets flying to the glowing sun
Through the empires of eternal void
Freedom from the final suicide

Freedom fighters sent out to the sun
Escape from brainwashed minds and pollution.
Leave the earth to all it’s sin and hate
Find another world where freedom waits.
Past the stars in fields of ancient void
Through the shields of darkness where they find
Love upon a land a world unknown
Where the sons of freedom make their home

Leave the earth to satan and his slaves
Leave them to their future in the grave
Make a home where love is there to stay
