Hi! What did I miss?
Tell me what you've been doing today. I understand there was some kind of game on today?

I've been driving the snow-covered, slippery highways of NE Wisconsin, visiting my mom, and just now getting back on DU.

Did you miss me? (Lie if you have to.) O8)

3. For some reason I wore a lot of black & yellow today.
I consumed mass amounts of processed foods and drank a concoction made of fermented hops and barley. I then watched a contest bewteen 22 men involving a handheld bean-shaped projectile. The object of the contest was for a team of 11 men to move the ball 100 yards in increments of 10 yards or more. It was quite interesting. :P

5. REV! You're back!
No lie, I have missed you......:loveya:

What did I do today? Went to the gym, worked hard!

Did some laundry.....more tomorrow...

Took a much-needed nap!

Dinner with my husband....

And NOW? DU!

I was truly concerned that the upgrade would take forevah....but it didn't!

I had nearly run out of contingency things to do, as well....

So glad to see you tonight.....

:loveya:

How's your mom doing? Is she settling into her new home OK? I hope so...

I do hope that your round-trip drive wasn't too hard.....I do not enjoy driving in the dark...

10. It ain't round-trip...
at least, not yet. :P
Mom's got a doctor's appointment in Madison tomorrow; and on Tuesday we have another evaluation with the nursing and hospice people. So I'm here until late Tuesday afternoon.

Mom's settling in. She wants pictures on her walls, so I'm going to help with that later on. Dad looks a little more rested, but I can tell that he's still very tired. He waited up for me - ain't that sweet?

Let's see: the rest of the day:
Church
More Church
Visit with baby Shayna and family after church (and I got to hold her again!)
Poeted on DU for a bit.
Took a nice 1-1/2 hour nap, with Binky.
Put out the garbage for collection on Tuesday.
Packed & loaded up the car.
Said goodbye to the cats, and asked them not to fight while I was gone.

A 'jamas day here. Worked on taxes, read some.

Hope your visit with your mom went well. Sending you cheery vibes to keep your cold, dark WI nights a little brighter and warmer.

Glad you made it home safely :hi:

8. Hey girl, good to see you!
 I had an exciting day of yoga-class-attending, book-shopping, movie-watching... I saw "Transamerica," it was quite good... grocery-shopping ... wanted to run over every moran in the place with my cart, JUST KEEP MOVING PEOPLE!... and watched that footbally thingy, mostly so I can grunt intelligently when my coworkers ask me about it tomorrow. I mostly did my nails while the game was on.

And now we have DU!

29. Thanks. She is a delight. A lot of stories that have been written
down. She taught first grade at St. James (an Episcopal parochial school) and granddad was an Episcopal priest. She has a lot of history of faith. She is a blessing, even though I know it's hard on her to have me breaking down around her, but I am scared I will hurt her. She is so fragile and weak, but she is nice.

Thanks for YOUR prayers.

19. I don't need to lie. I was not on DU earlier today, but now that I am,
I'd feel like my evening would be somewhat unfulfilled without you being around. Even if we didn't cross paths directly. You know what I mean, right? There are people who you feel better knowing that they're around somewhere close by, even if they're not right there where you can see them?

And I bet you understand that last sentence, even though it may be the most grammatically-mangled one I've written in years.

How are your parents doing? Are you still struggling with that decision you have to make about them?

24. Aw, you're so nice, it just oozes out of you!
I understood every word. :)

Parents are doing well, all things considered. I think they're having separation anxiety, even though they're only a few buildings and floors apart. I know they've made the right decisions, and am at peace about it. Tomorrow's visit to the pulminologist should clarify a few things.

And I might add that your presence here is not only a delight, but also a cornerstone of Lounge activity. (good one, eh?):loveya:

32. "Cornerstone?" Oh, boy. Someone else used the word "touchstone"
in a PM to me recently. Damn, you guys know how to make me feel good, don't you...or, wait a minute, are you just making fun of my name, because you know I'm, well, just a bit oblivious and won't catch on right away?

Redstone

(Just joking, Rev, you know that. And, hey, be glad that you still have parents to worry about. The Little Guy has grown up completely without grandparents, because the ones on my side died fifteen years ago, and the ones on Mrs R's side live in South Africa...)

I'm storing away all these memories, because I'll need to call on them later when I'm missing them terribly.

You may not believe it, but you ARE a cornerstone around here. You often give a voice of reason, while the rest of the place is erupting in flames. That, and you kinda look like a fireman to me. :D

Hey, I should have put that in the "tell something you've done that other DUers haven't" thread, yes?

The lousy roads were just in my county. We had a lot of lake-effect snow this weekend, then it was blowing across the road this morning. It's all just another winter day in the frozen tundra.
