saga of knuckledragger continues
well, my partner talked to one of the lawyers where she works

in a nutshell - going after this guy through legal means is going to be a big waste of money. It's a civil issue, and even if we prove he's encrouching on our land, blocking access for the other neighbors - all that will happen is he will be given a court order to move a fence/rocks etc.

and since he's such a freaking a$$hole - he most likely won't comply - this means back to the courts, pay more money for a cop to come and serve him more papers - which he'll probably ignore and then back to the courts....yadda yadda yadda

we can get him on harrassment if he starts yelling/screaming at us, that would be a criminal issue and more action would be taken on our behalf but the government would be footing the bill. So bassically, I keep my camera charged up, and we start keeping a journal of what he does/says and call the cops alot

meanwhile -- I told my partner that as far as I'm concerned there are only two acceptable choices for me - put up a big freaking fence or move.

we're putting up a fence. figure it's going to run about $400-$500 for the materials and we'll put it up ourselves. Stockade type fence, 8 feet tall.

1. Good fences make bad neighbors
a little less annoying. I may need to do something similar now that the new owners uphill have decided to remove the trees and shrubs along the fence line AND have installed outdoor flood lights that light my backyard quite nicely. It's as if there's a full moon out there every night.
