Can anyone recommend a good scanner that does pix & negatives?
Edited on Thu Jan-26-06 11:11 PM by Opposite Reaction
I like a flatbed for scanning pages from magazines, but also need to scan piles of photographs and negatives. Decent software bundle preferable. For a PC. My old Plustek OptiPro 9630P ain't cutting it anymore. :-(

Any suggestions?

1. Sorry, but I need some guidance on this.
I've not looked at scanner technology since I bought this last one eight years ago.

its supposed to do negs, but I haven't ever got around to trying yet. I don't know much about them - it works for me? It was a consumer reports best buy and I spent about 50 bucks with the mail in rebate.

It came with a text reading program that I found amazing - sort of like magic - it learns from its mitakes - howd they do dat?

4. I'll look into that, thanks!
OCR is definitely a useful tool, especially when I can scan magazine text.

6. I have an Epson Perfection 3170 Photo
I absolutely LOVE it!!!

My husband got it for me for Christmas. It does negatives and slides. It comes with adapters for both. I haven't used it for negatives yet. I don't know if I'll ever need it for that. But the slide adapter is GREAT!

7. I have that one, too
and I HAVE used it for negatives. It works great. This is a really good scanner that won't bust the bank.
