Who remembers the ten cent bottomless cup of coffee?

I was just thinking about that as I was drinking a cup.

There were restaurants and diners where you could order a cup of coffee and the waitress would make the rounds every so often with the pot and fill up your cup if it was near empty.

Something else that has gone the way of the ice box and the black & white TV.

8. Yep. Whatever happened to coffee flavored coffee?
Mike: What the hell is this?
Frank: It's coffee. Almond Maple Roast.
Mike: When did Baskin-Robbins start making coffee? Echhh.

2. I do. I was too young to drink it, but I remember a Sambo's commercial
where the cup was on the counter and the coffee pot above it just kept pouring and pouring and pouring and pouring, while the voice over talked about the bottomless cup of coffee. I liked watching the pouring. ;)

4. Sambo's! I haven't thought about them in a long time.
We had one in my hometown for a few years.

Rather short-lived chain, if memory serves.

Unfortunate choice of name and decor.

5. Did you call the customers "hon" or "sug"? Those were the days.
I didn't check your gender, but I'm guessing if you were pouring coffee that long ago...
