Light fever, cough, achy.....might be the flu instead of a cold.

Please post your tips for caring for yourself while having the flu.

1. That Theraflu stuff works for me.
I always feel a little better after having some.

Get well very soon, liberal_veteran.

3. My tips...
1. Shut off computer

2. Take a nice steaming shower to relieve aches

3. Enjoy (gag down) a nice hot cup of theraflu

4. Cuddle up in a warm fluffy comforter and sleep it off.

I do hope you are feeling better soon!

Hugs, Laura

4. I'll commiserate with you because
I woke up with a migraine headache yesterday and missed Thanksgiving because I couldn't eat anything without throwing up. The cooking smells were making me so ill. Today I could eat the leftovers though. I thought these headaches were sinus but discovered they are actually migraine, so that's progress anyway.

When I get the flu, I like to watch silly old movies. That always makes you feel better.

6. Yeah...I made a feast on Wednesday for Turkey Day...
...but could just nibble at the food for most of the day and give the other half instructions for how to cook our turkey.

7. There are antivirals now
If you take them within 48 hours, it is suppose to shorten the duration of the flu. You need to go to a doctor to get it. I took it 4 years ago, when I had flu in college. Since I hadn't had flu for a number of years before that and haven't had it since, I don't know how much it helped. I missed two days of class and a full week of running. Rest, drink lots of liquid, chicken noodle soup, and take ibprofen.
