As a long time (3 years) lurker, I finally got the nerve to join up here when my blog was featured in the "Blog Box" a few weeks back.
Im a simple man and usually not quite up to the level of posting by others here at DU and I always felt a touch intimidated. I know very few big words, my grammar sucks but dammit, I know the difference between right and wrong.
I want to belatedly thank the crew here for everything they have done to inform my country ass.
To all of the members who scour the "news" daily and seem to always find even the most neglected but important story and bring it into the light, thank you.
To all of the members who work so tirelessly bringing humor and insight, be it analysis or that damn MoPaul... thank you.
To all of the members who donated* to DU, making all of this possible, thank you.
Its like going to a Rainbow Gathering and hearing...."Welcome Home".

I have often felt intimidated on DU, especially when I first joined, and especially by those who are smarter, wittier, better informed, and more articulate than I could ever be. There are many intelligent people here with very steadfast and deeply held beliefs. It is rich in ideas and opinions. I learn so much and get so frustrated and am so glad I have a place to go where the egregious behavior of the neo-cons in power is recognized.
