this similarity between Real Life & the TV Show the Simpsons, I've noticed this on Southpark as well. I mean it's kind of hard to describe what I'm meaning but it's kind like jumping on the bandwagon or following the herd or like a big mob scene. I mean I notice on the Simpsons some kind of problem happens on show and the whole town is there going nuts, then it's solved and everyone walks away like nothing happened at all. I mean in real life I notice this happening often, People go crazy nuts for a fad or something like the Atkins Diet. People get real into it then it drops off the face of the earth never to be heard from again.
Another thing is 2 months ago in Indianapolis we had a snow storm that started 2 hours before rush hour. I was already home but I'm watching it on TV and the whole damn town acts like a bunch of idiots, in some parts of the city what usually was like a 45 minute commute turned into a 5 hour commute home for people because of the weather and every idiot decides to head home at the exact same time. It's not like the news was over exaggerating it because I've talked with dozens of people who drove thru it and said it took them like 4x as long to get home from work.
Also having parents who work in the grocery business, It's just funny hearing them tell stories about people fighting over milk & bread in the stores when it spits snow on the ground. I've only been in a grocery store once when this happened there was this woman with 8 two gallon jugs of milk and at least a dozen loafs of bread with nothing else in her cart. People where everywhere fighting for the stuff while this woman is like an armed guard with her cart trying to get to the checkout.
So am I the only one who notice these kinds of things? Also am I the only one who gets a chuckle when people get this mob like mentality when theres really nothing to worry about.
