I'm going to shave the salt n pepper beard I've had

for many years.

I don't know what I look like anymore.

Have you had any experiences like this? I don't want to scare those who know me as I am. Is it likely that most will run screaming into the night after viewing my visage?

1. just one question - why?

my best friend guy has a lovely mostly white beard. he shaved it once and i was shocked! his face looked so....gaunt. he just wasn't the same man and i told he needed to grow it back, because his beard made him uniquely special (imo)

7. I just did the same thing in September.

I had facial hair since 1975. My lovely wife thought the gray in my beard made me look too old, and may work against me when searching for a better job. So off it came. Shaving every day is a pain in the ass, but she claims it makes me look younger. I have relatives who did not remember me beardless.

I don't think people will run screaming into the night. But I will admit that my facial gestures with a beard are different than those without one. I kind of had to learn how to move my face again!
