5. Ugh...airport area?
Not much there, IIRC. Hop in the car and head up to Seattle itself. There's plenty to do downtown. There are some good free maps up there, too. I bet your hotel lobby has one.

9. Ahhhhhh...JulieRB recommended a cool place to me.
It's called The Rosebud, and it's in the Capitol Hill area. It's kinda funky, and the food is good.

it's a great time and worthy of a revisit for sure. With intheflow down in MS for 5 months, I am fighting cabin fever I guess. Good recommendation for sure.

Gelatiamo, I think. If you've been there, I'm fresh out of ideas. :D

26. My knowledge of Seattle is limited.
I hope you find something fun. No one should have to be stuck by the airport.

27. Nice. It's about two blocks from my office
They have valet parking so you don't even have to worry about where to park -- spend the money and let the restaurant figure it out.
Unfortunately, this part of downtown pretty much rolls up the sidewalk after work. If you want to walk afterwards, you can walk north to the shopping part of downtown -- about ten blocks. Or you can head South to Pioneer Square, to find Elliot bookstore and bars. Of course, you can always drive too.
How to keep track of direction -- Puget Sound is west. So if you see the sound to your left, you're heading north. If it's to your right, you're heading south.

28. cool I also love Pikes Place but... it's late
I used to go to an Irish pub up off one of the alleys above the market. But kind of young and I am old now... but it is in the right part of town. I think there is a place called Elliots Oyster House. Ever hear of it? Owned by the same people who own the Met.

29. Hmm -- There's an Oyster Bar in the old Four Seasons Hotel
I'm not sure it's called Elliott's though. If you want an Oyster Bar, the one I'm thinking of is on 4th Avenue and (I think) Spring, northeast corner of the intersection. I can't remember the new name for the Hotel but it used to be the Four Seasons. That is closer to the shopping part of downtown that is still alive after 6 PM.
There's an Irish Bar near the Metropolitan Grill. I think it's called Fado. It's on First, around James. Someone at the Met could tell you exactly. I don't think it's as lively as Kells, the place you're thinking of at the Market.

check out Snoqualmie Falls. I used to live a mile up the road from there, it's beautiful. :)

15. Ivar's is a really good seafood restaurant, though it's not nearby.
The Boeing museum at Boeing Field is very cool, if you like aerospace stuff. They have a Concorde there that you can go inside.

There's a statue of Lenin somewhere, too (don't remember where). A very odd thing to see.

20. Restaurants, theatre, movies, shopping
You have to eat, right? I don't know where you're from but Seattle may have more ethnic and seafood restaurants than you're used to. Pick one and have a great time. The Wild Ginger is a nice safe choice.
Lots of movies to choose from. Is that though what you want to do? This is usually something you can do at home.
Right now, I don't know what's playing in the live theatre but Seattle Center usually has a show running. Shows start at 7:30, I think.
There's a book shop in Pioneer Square (just south of downtown) called Elliot's that may be worth checking out. Good for people watching as well as shopping.
It's totally dark out now because we have such short days in the winter. Between the darkness and the rain, I think you're stuck doing indoors stuff.
Have fun. Next time, post when you are in town and some locals may be able to meet you.

ahead of time and offer to buy the beer. Will be back soon as I am here severl times each month on business. I sometimes stay in Elliot Bay Marina on my buddy's bost but it's "in the shop"

I guess I just need to drive downtown and park and just start walking.

for now.

There's the Pop Smear event at Chop Suey--if you don't mind blowing five bucks to hear experimental tracks created with bodily noises.
