Any of you guys fans of the show "The Office", BBC or NBC versions?
I love them both, they're actually two very difference shows. Steve Carrell's version of the Office Manager of a paper company and Ricy Gervais are two different, but hysterically funny characters. I highly recommend both shows if you haven't seen them yet.

1. I LOVE the U.S. version...Steve Carell is brilliant!
I haven't laughed out loud so much at a t.v. show since...well, I can't even remember when. Steve Carell is a genius, IMO. His character Michael is such an ass, yet you really do feel for him sometimes, thanks to the subtle glimpses of his humanity Carell provides. (Examples being the "Office Olympics" show, at the end of which we see Carell's character Michael being deeply moved by the "gold medal" bestowed upon him by his staff. And the conversation Michael had with Jim at the office party on the yacht, regarding Jim's feelings for Pam, was actually very moving!) Carell's Golden Globe win was most definitely deserved!

So yeah, I can't say enough about how much I love The Office. :-) I only hope it doesn't go the way of so many great shows and get canceled prematurely (like Freaks and Geeks, My So-Called Life, etc.)

3. My hubby and I are addicted to that show.
We crack up all the time, just remembering it. I temped in college as a receptionist, so Pam's my fave character. She's what would've happened to me if I'd taken the jobs I was offered.

2. I watched the entire 2nd series of the BBC version last night

And I have to say, it was punishing.
The painful way exceeded the funny, IMHO.

The hubby and I started watching the US version, which we love. When we learned about the BBC original, we rented the first series which we also loved.

But the two (the US vs. the UK) are different. Each can be enjoyed on their own merits.

But the second series? It was still funny. But very, very painful. It was emotionally punishing, at least for me.

on edit: clarity

5. I thought it was great when Brent got sacked
I felt bad for him for about 10 seconds. He's written as one of those guys that just "don't get it".
