I love suicide doors! But they had better have a child safety lock on them.

Why are they called that?

just tap it while driving by. . . . a regular door will get trashed, a suicide door will trash you too :P

6. One thing to be said about Chrysler, though,
they tend to be the company to make their concepts for sale.

The Viper and Prowler, for example.

If they make a Green Hornet movie, this Car should sooo be used for Black Beauty.

EDIT: The TV Series Black Beauty was based off the '64 Imperial, IIRC.

12. Interesting.
Obvious evolution of the design for the Chrysler 300--just a bit more retro in the lines of the hood/front fenders (reminds me a bit of the 'streamlined' cars of the late '30's and '40's), and something of a 1950's/'60's Rolls to the rear quarter (C-pillars, fenders, and trunk), especially in three-quarter view.

I dig the retro-futuristic look, but you have to wonder if they're totally out of NEW ideas.

15. Chrysler rocks.
After 30 years of car companies worshiping the laws of aerodynamics, Chrysler's designs in the past several years diminishes the jealousy I feel toward guys who grew up in the 50s and 60s.

Edited on Wed Jan-18-06 05:28 AM by JonathanChance
They built 'em like big ol' tanks back then, too.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_%28automobile%29

IIRC, an number of local Demolition Derby governing bodies ended up banning the use of Imperials in competition because they were so damn indestructable, they'd always win.

Not that much different from most American cars of the era, though.

You couldn't really fit a full-sized person through it.

Nope, not a B-pillar, it's the frame of the rear door which offers the support of a B-pillar without having the permanent hindrance of one in the way.

41. I'll tell you one thing.
We just got a Chrysler 300, and that car is so well engineered, it is shocking. I really think there is a lot of Daimler influence. Everyone is easy to use, easy to reach, the truck is ginormous.

And the butt warmers are way cool.
