TONIGHT in Philly: Come out to protest Santorum, Falwell & Dobson
YEP!! All three of them in one venue in North Philly (about 7 blocks north of City Hall on Broad Street)

Tonight is Justice Sunday III and somehow a church is holding a political event where Falwell, Dobson & Rick Santorum will all be speaking. I think it's a joke because Santorum is trying to move to the middle to win back Pennsylvania voters and this surely ain't going to do it. Plus Philadelphia overwhelming can't stand Santorum, especially the African-American voters (Yeah, and Lynn Swann thinks he'll somehow win them back over - who the hell is he kidding!)

There will be massive protests outside of the CHURCH (yes a political rally at a church) and I'm putting a call out to all Philly area DUers to join us at the protest (I'll be there with JimmyJazz).

More details about the protest here
Justice is the right to health care and effective HIV prevention, reproductive freedom, and freedom from homophobia and bigotry -- not fundamentalist extremism from the extreme right wing. Join ACT UP Philadelphia, people of faith, people of conscience, women's health groups and other friends in Philadelphia on Sunday January 8 to protest Justice Sunday III -- a national rally for religious extremist groups who are fighting for a judiciary that is as reactionary as they are. Justice Sunday III comes just one day before the Senate Judiciary Committee opens hearings for Supreme Court Justice Nominee Samuel Alito and will include notorious fixtures of the radical right. These right wing religious groups exert extraordinarily powerful influence over White House policies on HIV prevention, global AIDS, science, sex education and public health. Join us outside the Greater Exodus Baptist Church, at 704 North Broad Street at 6:30 for a spirited rally and protest.

I know that many other progressive groups along with Act-up will be at the protest. So it should be a great evening and I hope that other DUers in Philadelphia will join us in the protest!!

2. It's not my protest - I'm just joining in with everyone
:D

I am so irritated by the letters in my local newspaper with all these anti-stem cell rejects talking about how it's all about killing babies. Don't these idiots know that these eggs would have been destroyed anyways if they weren't donated for stem cell research? One lady was like 'I know I'm going to die of something that could be cured by stem cell research but I'm not gonna kill the babies'. Dumb bitch. First, she probably doesn't have anything but just another tactic by these idiots and second if I was her and actually had something that could be bettered by stem cell - hell yes I'd be fighting for a cure with every means possible.

4. I wish they'd stop with this Justice Sunday crap.
Really, I think any church that participates in Justice Sunday should lose their tax-exempt status.
