("The Dictator" is my favorite Chaplin work, "The General" for Keaton)

That being said, Lillian Gish was far greater than Mary Pickford. :D

49. The Dictator is good but City Lights & Gold Rush rules
Just make sure you don't get Chaplins re-edited 1943 version of the Gold Rush where he adds in naration with the movie. It absolutely sucks!

7. Tell her I said hi and.....
Donald Rumsfeld is giving the President his daily briefing on Iraq. He concludes by saying: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed."

"OH NO!" the President exclaims. "That's terrible!" His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the President sits, head in hands. Finally, President looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?"

32. I am enjoying the Lakers/Clippers game
I have been a Laker fan since I was a kid the 70's, but because the Clippers are also L.A. (and formerly San Diego), I have a soft spot for them - it has to be hard to be in the Lakers' shadow.

It's fun, because Staples is home to both, and this is a Clippers "home" game, with their colors on the court. But the crowd is split, and it's also being broadcast on the 2 teams' local channels.

I love L.A. - we can't keep an NFL team, but we can carry 2 NBA franchises.

Plus, the Clippers are off to a decent start this year.

Lakers ahead 84-82 with 11:38 in the game. Kobe is shooting 3-pointer after 3-pointer.

34. I would be happy for them
There are a good number of us who like both teams, with most favoring the Lakers. But the Clippers have a loyal fan base who deserve a successful season. There is no crosstown rivalry in L.A., lol.

It's the Sacramento Kings we Laker fans despise. :D

37. Now, I did cheer for the Lakers against the hated Celtics.
I was a Sixers fan back in the Dr. J days. I was a big ABA guy, so I had a soft spot for Dr. J. Now, I don't much care for Philly, although I've come to respect Iverson a lot.

38. The Lakers KILLED Philly last night
It was by nearly 30 points. It was brutal.

Ah, the ABA. They have a new incarnation, if you can believe it. But you can't replace the 70's heyday with the red, white, and blue basketballs. :D

I remember the Virginia Squires. Then pfffft.....

It gladdens my heart that the Celtics haven't been contenders in years. :D
