Soccer Parents Mad About Swinger Convention Held In Their Hotel
<snip>

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Some teenage soccer players and their parents saw more sights than they wanted when they stayed at a hotel where about 200 swingers were having a New Year's Party.

The families, some who traveled from as far away as South Carolina, said the sexually adventurous partygoers sashayed through the hotel atrium, sometimes flashing breasts and bare buttocks in front of the children. The parents described the dress at the Crowne Plaza Hotel-Airport in Orlando as "raunchy, despicable and worse than prostitutes."

"We thought we were coming to Orlando, not the Las Vegas Strip," said Mark Gilbert, the father of a boy who plays on the Clearwater Chargers, a group of 13-and-under players from Florida.

The teams booked the $92-a-night rooms for Disney's Soccer Showcase, and said hotel management did not tell them about the swingers' party or try to keep the uninhibited adults away from their children.

Hotel managers did not immediately return a telephone message Tuesday.

All of the swingers had checked out of the hotel by late Sunday and could not be reached for comment.

"We're not prudes by any means," said Rob Young of Greenville, S.C., who said his two daughters, Leah, 13 and Lauren, 11, were asking questions he struggled to answer. "We would have liked to have been informed when we checked into the hotel so we could have made other arrangements.

7. Whiny self-righteous putrid fake-Christian assholes
Fuck you! You DO NOT have a right to be told who everyone else in a hotel is when you book reservation. You DO have a right to ASK YOURSELF.

To all the whiny, easily-offended fuckwit types, here's my advice: get your pathetic list of "things I find offensive" ready whenever you call a hotel so that you be sure that there are no people who enkjoy sex, no homosexuals, no women in pants, no career women, no businessmen having martini lunches, no minorities, no band playing musical genres you think are from the devil in the lounge, no people of any type of profession, faith, hobby, or behavior that you might find "morally objectionable" while you are telling jokes and laughing about how your fundy president is killing all those heathen evil towelhead unwashed filth.

Fuck you!

14. To paraphrase a friend, in a similar issue
"If you don't want your kids to see two women leading around a man by a leash and leather collar, don't take them out to dinner in Dupont Circle at 11 p.m. on a Saturday night."

{To the uninitiated: Dupont Circle is an area in DC that is a safe haven to those of less-conventional sexual preferences.)

25. These people didn't take their kids
to Dupont Circle. They took them to the hotel. Meanwhile, swingers were apparently running around in semi naked states in public places. I don't know many people who would like for their kids to see that.

15. True
but if the allegations of flashing kids are true, the people were being complete scumbags and should've been kicked out of the hotel on the spot. It's not the Hotel's responsibility to pre-screen people, but it is their responsibility to either make sure people having swinger conventions keep it to themselves, or get kicked the hell out.

Personally, I wouldn't mind getting flashed, but that doens't make it right.

17. And I agree totally - exposing themselves in public should have gotten
them booted.

But this guy seems to have more of an issue that they were even there and that he wasn't told when he checked in, than that his children might have gotten flashed.

But yes, the management should have come down hard on the in-public exposing as soon as it happened.

20. Exactly.
This week's Savage Love had a pretty pertinent message -- there's a line between accepting someone else's sex life and being unwittingly pulled into it. (The letter was about a 24/7 BDSM slave's presence at Christmas dinner or some such.)

There's nothing wrong with booking a swingers' convention and a soccer group in the hotel at the same time, assuming BOTH GROUPS behave themselves in public. This means the soccer kids don't run around the pool area throwing beach chairs and putting candy bars in the hot tub (as some of my peers did when we went to the state capital in fifth grade). This means the swingers don't flash kids.

If there was nudity in the ballroom (and the swingers' group's contract didn't prohibit nudity), there should have been a curtain or something. That was the hotel's fault. (Hell, if I was having a private boring work party, I'd want a curtain.)

23. Usually, the swing organizations book the entire hotel
For this exact reason. Who knows, they may have done that. The hotel, finding that not all the rooms were actually going to be occupied, resold them.

It's not the the swing organizations try to hide what they intend to do. It is the hotel's fault for letting the neuters in.

26. That is what these people object too. The hotel booked
parents with their kids, never telling them there was a swinger convention going on at the same time. The parents couldn't even make an informed decision. When I book a hotel, I certainly don't expect a bunch of naked people lounging around in the lobby.

10. What are they doing going to Disney?!
Disney has "gay day"! (gasp!)

The swingers were probably trying to "encourage" the soccer parents to get their brats out of the lobby. I can imagine what kind of hijinks the little darlings might have been up to.

12. Mr. Leather International
A friend of mine lived in the far east for about six years. He got a job back in Chicago and his company was putting his family and him up in a hotel until they found a house, etc.

So, they fly in on Friday and that weekend the "Mr. Leather International" title was being contested in the same hotel. He got lots of questions from his kids like "Why does that man's pants have holes in the rear end" and "Why does that man have a leash around his neck?"

13. I'd feel the same way as those parents
Edited on Tue Jan-03-06 04:00 PM by Patiod
I don't have kids myself, but I often have responsibility for my friend's kids. And if I were away at a hotel with a kid's sport's teams and there were a lot of adults running around flashing breasts or butts or behaving inappropriately, I would be pissed off, too. You know the term "sexually consenting adults"? Well I think that what "sexually consenting adults" do is their own damned business, but that assumes 1) kids are not involved or forced to watch and 2) that the behavior is kept private. Do kids belong on Bourbon Street at night during Mardi Gras? No! On Padre Island or Lake Havasu during Spring Break? No. Should parents expect that they can bring children to these venues and expect keep them away from "adult behavior"? (usually fueled by "adult beverages" but that's another story....) No.

But by the same token, neither do people acting out sexually belong in the public areas of a hotel where parents and others might otherwise expect civilized behavior. Even though I have and cherish Freedom of Speech, it's not appropriate to talk about fucking or blow jobs at the dinner table in front of 10-year-olds. I don't wear my g-string* or stripper outfit* to their parents' house when I visit. It's not about prudishness, it's about appropriate behavior in public places, people. We don't masturbate on public transportation, we don't walk around hotel public areas soliciting sexual congress...

And as far as "getting their brats out of the lobby" -- did you never go anywhere as a kid? Should kids be kept at home until they're 21? How do we as a society raise them to know how to behave if they're not exposed to anything outside their home until they're 21? What, only adults are allowed to be in the lobby?

*hypothetical g-string or stripper outfit.....

24. When the swinger convention booked the hotel for the weekend
The hotel became a venue for "adult behavior".

The hotel should not have rented to other guests that weekend.

Most swing conventions book the entire hotel for this exact reason.

21. We stayed at a really sleazy hotel once with my
brother's baseball team.

There were truckers looking at porn in the laundry room, cowboys and hookers running around drunk in the middle of the night, couples having sex in the pool---and the woman who ran the restaurant next door said that she had had to fire two of her employees the day before because she found them having sex in the dining room.

27. They shouldn't have to put up with this
The soccer team, I mean how many people on here that have kids would like to have to put up with something like this. It's the greedy hotels fault for booking both at the same time, If your going to allow swinger stuff to happen like that you need to close the hotel down to the general public.

On a side not am I the only one who has notice that when ever swingers are on TV for something like an interview about the lifestyles it's people who if you seen them nude you would :puke: at the site of them. I've seen them on Oprah and news shows and stuff and it just yuck, flabby & out of shape slobs. It seems to me the only reason they join these groups is because the can't stand how their partner looks, I'd hate to see what the ugliest male and female look like at one of these things :puke: This kind of goes the say way as nudist colonies, I had some neighbors down the road from me growning up who I didn't find out until I was grown where members of a nudist colonies, just the thought of that makes me wanted to stick burning hot coal in my eyes! :puke:

"The kids could see through the glass atrium into the ballroom where naked people were dancing," Young said. "There were exposed breasts, thongs and see-through dresses on women who were not wearing any underwear."
