Words to Describe Cats
Cativorous, adj. Refers to a feline diet, i.e., the kinds of things cats eat, like fishy-smelling canned food. This word oes not distinguish between fussy eaters or feline omnivores who'll eat anything thrown from the table.

Cattitude, noun. A cat's outlook on life, which accepts as normal that a cat does not need human approval and doesn't seek it.

Catty, adj. A misnomer. Cats are not catty, people are.

Cat, verb transitive. To function as a cat in a typical household. To cat the house means to look out the window; to locate and sleep in the warmer places in the house, esp. the bed; to meow or purr or make other cat-type noises, esp. upon rising or at mealtimes; to display cattitude; (trad.) to catch mice.

3. Caterwailing
If you've ever heard tomcats during mating season, the term caterwailing might describe their songfests. They glare at each other, then they go up and down the scale from a throaty growl to a high-pitched threatening noise. Feline "concerts" typically last for hours.

Some cats just need their stank butt washed in a twice-yearly bath.
:hide: It takes a zen calm / strange courage to attempt this feat.
