Another funeral next week. Geez.
Last week I posted about the death of my aunt. Today, my mom called and told me her younger brother Robert died yesterday.

Why do all my mom's relations die on the holidays? My grandmother passed away on Thanksgiving day 1996. My great-grandmother died on New Years 1990. My great-aunt died on December 23.

No wonder I hate the holidays so much. :(

I only hope I can find my suit. I haven't seen it since I moved last summer.

9. Thank u4ic
I hope we can put off another death in the family for at least another year. 2005 kind of sucked for us. Two deaths, a couple of divorces, and some other bad stuff. Here's to a better 2006.

6. sorry to hear of your loss
my family has had deaths around the holidays too. An uncle (my Mom's twin brother) died Dec 17th 1972. My brother's sister in law was killed by a drunk driver Dec 18th 1988 and my grandmother died Dec 18th 1995. This year my aunt was expected to die during the holidays but managed to survive until now although it's just a matter of time until she passes.

14. Thanks. They were both great people
Uncle Huck (Robert) caused a huge scandal by marrying an "older woman" (she was three years his senior). He was a very happy-go-lucky guy and was one of the few relatives who regularly visited my grandmother (his younger sister) in the nursing home near the end of her life. I wasn't as close to him as I was to Dorothy but he was a great guy.

15. Thanks
There's only one surviving sister left out of the family of seven. I already miss hearing their stories about growing up poor and Scandinavian in Minneapolis during the depression.

When it rains it pours, I guess. At least he had a long life. He was well into his 80s when he passed.
