81 F*CKING DEGREES.
That's the high today. 81 damn shitty degrees. January 1.

Fucking A. I'm hot. I woke up sweating and the ceiling fan was even on.

I REFUSE to turn on the air conditioning in January. That's just unnatural, even here.

IT NEEDS TO COOL OFF, I can't take this much longer, I really can't.

which is shorts time up here. If it is January we can expect our Canadian friends to send some cool relief from the heat.

45. Eh...not likely
;)

It was the same temperature here in Edmonton today...we've had an incredibly mild winter so far. Even the Yukon has been having a heat wave; instead of -31F temperatures, it's been around 17F there as of late.

2. Do you have the miserable fog?
Edited on Sun Jan-01-06 01:51 PM by merh
It is in the 70's here and the fog is so thick, it drips from the trees on to my trailer's roof like rain.

I had to turn on the a/c yesterday, it was too damp and stuffy not to. Having a head cold, I couldn't breath without it.

IT NEEDS TO COOL OFF and the FOG MUST GO!

Here is hoping for cooler days & wishing you a Happy 2006, Bouncy Ball! :toast:

Gad. And I have a sinus headache, too. Great way to start the year. It's been this hot for a couple of weeks now and I'm sick of it.

Thanks, Happy 2006 to you too! Hope your head cold goes away soon!

RIGHT now, I mean it. 30 sounds heavenly. It's no wonder people get so sick around here. It's 40 degrees one day, 80 degrees the next.

13. Mmm, maybe no thanks on that.
Although you just need to eat something nice and salty and drink a lot of water.

Have some Hoppin' John--rice, browned crumbled sausage, black-eyed peas, maybe some jalepenos.

I feel hungover and the strongest thing I had to drink last night was cocoa! LOL.

32. It's been raining here for a week. Literally.
Today is the first day is hasn't rained since Christmas Day, and it looks like it's fixing to do so again right now.

For at least three of those days, it rained around the clock, heavy soaking rains.

But still there isn't enough snow up in the mountains, and we'll be looking at continuing drought conditions this summer.

35. Sounds like the warm pocket around Beaumont is spreading
I remember Texas near the Louisiana border in December years ago being very warm. (Oh, that sentence was a mess!) And the weather maps always showed that everywhere around us, people were freezing their asses off, but we'd always be in this little bubble of warm air that made the sandy soil smell fetid and rank.

This is for shit. It's STILL 77 degrees here, and it's a few minutes after 8. Ridiculous. I mean, I know it's Texas, but it's not normally like THIS.

And the wild swings in temperature are worse than I remember as a kid. Temps were fairly consistent back then. I don't remember swinging from 40s to 80s in one day a lot like we do now.
