Do you think the gym is a good place to meet women?
I used to workout at the gym 5 days a week, and by 2002, I looked pretty damn good if I do say so myself.

But as my work schedule intensified I let the working out taper off, and as 2005 draws to a close I have a bit of a, er, extra packaging (yeah, that's it). I haven't lost much muscle tone, it's just that there is a little of the, uh, extra packaging on top of it all.

Well, I want to lose 25 pounds this year, and I want to hit the gym again. I always hear people say that gym can be a great place to meet women. Do you think this is true?

3. i met my girlfriend at the gym!
i asked her to spot me, which in retrospect was a liquid smooth move.

grrrreat place to meet women, i think. especially cuz you can see a woman for what she normally is, not some artificial dressed up version of her.

4. some gyms are meat markets
it depends on the gym you go to I think. The biggest clue is when there are women walking on the treadmill wearing make-up. Those women drive me nuts because they hog the machines. I personally don't like to meet people at the gym but that's just me. Good luck!

5. I wore make up to the gym...
but I wasn't there to meet anyone (I'm happily married), and I didn't hog the machines.

I do agree, though, that some gyms are meat markets and others are not.

6. By all means, you can see if they're healthy and active.
Better than the hospital recovery room.

7. I own a chain of gyms, and ours are for women only... so NO! That said
when I belonged to 24 Hour Fitness, I went to the one in West Hollywood where gay men were the primary customers, so I wouldn't be put into social situations that I had no interest in.

Sometimes, we just want to work out.

If you're interested in meeting women, make sure the gym you join is more oriented towards socializing than towards people who take their workouts seriously.. then you'll have a better shot at it!

Build up that CARDIO!
