It is my theorem, that George Bush and his minions are, in fact, the Great Old Ones of Lovecraft's "fictional" mythos.

Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (pronounced Hastur) ---- Clearly the old one named Hastur. This one is so easy to spot, the Old Ones are being sloppy, but since our doom is at hand they no longer need to be cautious.

Laura Bush, the first lady, also an Old One... specifically ---- Shub-Niggurath; the answers are all right there... Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young... plus Shub is an anagram of Bush and her middle name is Lane. Lane + Laura is nine letters, the same number as Niggurath.
