I am so SICK of overcast skies.

It's like someone took a straw and sucked the color out of everything, and blew it in a vomitous brown spatter onto filthy, gravelly streets. It's just brown and white and shades of gray as far as I can see. This is the part of winter I can't stand. That and I'm dog-sitting a dumb bichon who had run away once already in the first hour that I had her. Today sucks. :puke:

Pittsburgh has more overcast days than Seattle and they all seem to happen between November and March. I swear sometimes I forget what the sun looks like. It helps to plan a short trip to someplace sunny in late February.

Here in Seattle, the "bluest skies you've ever seen" turn gunmetal gray in the winter. We still have all the evergreen trees which is nice, but everything does look washed out. Kind of gets to a person after awhile.

14. Oddly enough, while I hate looking at days like

this through the windows, I find that a good pick-me-up is to actually go outside! It seems counter-intuitive, but the mild nip of the air and the sense of doing something takes away the blahs.

Of course, I've barely left the house today, but plan on skiing later tonight.

23. Yeah -- We had a week of cold, clear, blue skies and windy.

I froze my patooties off! I couldn't wait for it to cloud up again and warm up into the 50s and rain (which it finally did). I can't take that bone-chilling cold!
