Hey MAC users.
Edited on Tue Dec-27-05 11:38 AM by nini
if you buy a product that says OS 8.6, 9.2.1 in the system requirements.. DO NOT CALL AND BITCH OUT TECH SUPPORT BECAUSE IT WON'T RUN IN TIGER 10.4. Thank God I don't have to do tech support anymore.

I cannot fucking believe how arrogant mac users can be over this shit. If you buy a value line product for 5.99 you have no right to piss and moan about it not running in 10.4

We don't get calls from Windows customers pissed off after buying a win 3.1/95 product they find in a value bin, not running in XP and in 3D.

IF you buy an old product in a value bin - assume it will not run correctly on a brand new system.

What is it with mac users? Seriously, your fucking devotions to macs should not wipe out any common sense about old software working on new systems.

:grr: :nuke:

flame the fuck away. I feel better now.. :D

on edit: corrected OS version of Tiger to 10.4

2. BUT they don't want it to run in Classic mode.
that's the problem. They freaking go out of their minds because it doesn't run natively.

I understand wanting a title to run natively.. BUT if you buy a value line - obviously an older prodcut that does not list OSX on the system requirements, you don't have the right to complain.

6. hehe

I guess we're expected to bow down to their aura of superiority - it just pisses me off to have to see these techs being ripped up one side and down the other for something as stupid as this. The customer can be irritated - just don't be brutal to the person on the other side of the phone. It's NOT acceptable.

I need another day off I think :D

4. by the way, it's not "MAC"
Edited on Tue Dec-27-05 11:42 AM by kick-ass-bob
it's "Mac"

as in Macintosh. It is not an acronym for anything, like PC is for "Personal Computer".

Otherwise, I'll think you are yelling at me for no good reason, and I probably won't respond to you very nicely.

on edit: and by the way, I HAVE seen such idiotic behavior from PC users. There is no monopoly present.

5. Heh... I had that same problem with PC users, though...
They could not understand why the USB win-modem and driver for same would not work on their Windows 98 system... And these guys were MANAGEMENT where I was working.

8. Oh.there are plenty of nimrod Win users too
Not denying that. There's just an 'attitude' difference in general. It's hard to explain unless someone has seen it.

As far as Management goes -- no surprise there :-)

I intentionally used MAC instead of Mac... I know that pisses them off. Kind of like saying 'Frisco' :P

that's real nice.
:eyes:

Why would you want to piss off people here who would not do that?

I should just say all PeeCee users are too stupid to take their heads out of their asses.
That's about the same thing.

17. I do agree with you.
I used to teach people to use page layout software. The ones that pissed me off were those who had taken on a project, it's due tomorrow, please teach me everything today. And they had no aptitude for it and no design sense at all. I'm so glad that the "desktop publishing revolution" is over. Now there are god awful audio and video projects floating around out there.

18. Yep, it's the tech's fault for the fact they don't get it - :D
I did tech support about 10 years ago and never got upset with a customer who just needed a bit of help - I actually enjoyed those customers because they were grateful and the conversation was pleasant.. It's the demanding ones that talk to the tech like they're the idiot that gets me. No reason to be snotty - especially over something that could be avoided by reading the box more carefully.

Of course, most software doesn't come with a printed manual any more.

23. YES RTFM!!!! hahah.. reminds me of a story
Way back in the day we had tech that was one day from transferring to a different dept. He had NO patience with the customers as he knew he would be done with them soon enough. A particular customer was asking basic questions they wouldn't have asked if they had opened the manual. The tech finally yells "Did you get any documentation with that thing?". HAHA We all turned around and looked at him with wide eyes because we couldn't believe he said that.. then we all started laughing.

You want to yell that all the time but can't. It was nice to hear it for a change.

24. I know techs have bleeding tongues.
I always supported the little groups I worked in. It's bad enough when you know and work with them. But total strangers on the phone must be maddening.
