I got my grades! Wow! :) (Bragging alert)
First of all, I'm a first year grad student getting my Master's in Lit from American University in DC. I was afraid I was basically going to get Ds and fail out of grad school because I am paranoid about things like that.

Tonight I got my grades, and they are:
Genre: Novel B+
Modern Jewish Lit B+
Contemporary World Poetry C+

I am pretty proud of myself, even though I was hoping for more than a C+, but I think it's not bad for my first semester. The prof for that class was also VERY tough and kind of scary.

8. Thanks!
I worked my butt off-reading all kinds of crazy stuff on the metro surrounded by crazy guys and drunks!
Hopefully next time 'round I'll be at least as lucky as I was this time. I work towards it every day:)

All the best to you.

9. I felt the same way in my first semester of grad school.
My office mate told me that if I was still standing at the end of the semester, I should consider that a victory. I pass that advice on to you.

13. Damnation. That is good.
Considering, especially, that Contemporary World Poetry is a hard class. I believe I'll be starting my Masters work in Archaeology in the spring. I can all ready feel the stress about the grades. ;)

16. More congrats from me!
I assure you, luck has nothing to do with good grades, either you know the stuff or you don't. Yes, you should be proud. So you have a tough but scary professor? Calculate your tuition, etc., and break it down to hours in the class. That puts everything into perspective. Makes one work maybe a little harder than typical? Maybe . . .
