DU'ers might like to rent "Scrooged" Bill Murray...when Poppy Was Pres.

We rented it last night and it's an old movie...but "Jaysus" it sort of is hard to watch today! Given what we've been through with the Bushies...I felt myself "cringing" through a movie I LOVED..watching in other times before what we live in today.
It's a fantastic watch for DU'ers who don't know the movie and would like a little history about "Media Whores" and what they've done to our Society here in America!
When I first saw it and the few rentals afterwards we were living under Clinton and the movie was FUNNY! Now! it seems like Film Noir given that what the darkest thoughts in it have come true.
I rented it last night and had to do "Stop Play" because I was so FREAKED OUT ABOUT WHAT IT MEANT FOR US!!!
RENT IT! It's sort of like watching Clooney's Movies about McCarthy/Communists and "Oil Wars." It's NOT A FUNNY MOVIE ANYMORE ...it's a SEDITIONIST MOVIE. "SCROOGED"...RENT IT! Don't let your kids see it unless they are over 10 years old. :-( The Predictions for what our "Whore Media" would BECOME will make your hair stand on end... The movie ends in a charming way...but what we are living through is NOT CHARMING!!!!
he is a TV executive - and they put on an extremely cheesy "Christmas Carol - the musical (think Springtime for Hitler & a touch of Faux "How to Marry a Millionaire") Edgy, dark humor - from the malevolent mind of Michael O'Donoghue (remember him from when SNL had wit and teeth?)
7. Bill Murray wanting to staple reindeer antlers on the mice,
was mildly funny till the couple behind me got up in a huff and left. I laughed so hard that I embarrassed my friends. Fond memories of that movie. Thanks, I'll have to go rent. I don't like violence, but when Carol Kane clobbered Bill with the toaster, I lost it again.
