Poll question: christmas cookie poll
what's your favorite?
Y'all know I can't list them all here so if yours is not on the list say so...
Mine are these little candy cane shaped cookie. They have no taste (oatmeal, flour, butter, vanilla)..... then you add this very simple powered sugar glaze (in red and white of course) and everything changes!

1. I love russian tea cakes
In fact, I'm baking some tonight! :). I've got 4 neighbors that I'm friends with but I really couldn't think of what to buy them that they would like, and that I'd feel right giving- so I bought cute little Christmas tins from Marsh, and colored plastic wrap, and I'm baking oatmeal chocolate chip cookies and russian tea cakes- and I'm going to toss in some chocolates, too. :D

8. Thanks for the tip!
This is my first time making russian tea cakes~ I've baked all sorts of other cookies, but never these. I just remember how much I loved them as a girl and figured, hey, why not bake a batch of these so I can eat what's left over! Lol. :D

A mixture of dates & rice crispies, rolled in coconut. :9
I'll have to get the recipe from mom. Her baking days are over.

I can't eat cookies any more, but I fondly recall making tons and tons of gingerbread people.

13. Trying a new one this year.
Sugar cookie dough with white chocolate chunks, dried blueberries, dried cherries and dried cranberries. Very pretty and are supposed to be good-sweet and tart at the same time. Otherwise, I like shortbread and almond crescents.

14. Mmmm...other...
...so delicious...

Er, seriously, the pressed cookies from Bluebonnet Bakery in Fort Worth. Since I can't get there, I'm trying out a simple sugar cookie recipe this season - I've got lots of holiday cutters.
