What are your rights against an Ebay fraud?
Is anyone familiar with your rights on Ebay if you buy using PayPal? My son bought an Xbox360 from a guy in Canada and he welshed on the deal. He paid using PayPal and Visa. I have disputed the Visa charge from PayPal. PayPal said they will only refund $175 because that is the maximum buyer protection that is offered by Ebay. Other than disputing the charge on Visa and reporting the seller to Ebay is there anything else my son should do?

1. I'm just writing so I remember to
ask my SO for you; he's an e-Bay fiend and may be able to help.

6. I'd like to know, too.
I bought something over eBay that was advertised as new with a five year warranty. When I sent the warranty into the company, I learned that the guy on eBay had bought it USED from them. They didn't know where he got the warranty forms. Luckily, the company decided to honor the warranty, but I'm pissed that I was lied to.

I haven't been very happy with eBay. I'd rather buy from a reputable company over the Internet and that's probably what I'll do from now on. Besides, most of the used good stuff I've seen on eBay could be found cheaper NEW at a store. eBay has turned me off.

7. I didn't find out about the fraud until after 45 days had elapsed.
PayPal says that all claims have to be filed within 45 days.

2. Update: per my husband, there's not much else you can do
except take cold comfort knowing the seller will more than likely be tombstoned by Ebay. Sorry.

3. it seems to me...
that ebay and/or paypal should be able to supply the contact info for this seller. this is a binding, legal contract that was broken. perhaps a threat of legal action will coax this guy to refund the money or send the xbox.

4. also consider...
calling your credit card company and telling them. they can do a chargeback from paypal. then it is their problem.

5. we almost got taken from a lady in Canada
Tell you what we did. We returned something to her and this was in the days before paypal gave you any money back.

We kept copies of all our e-mails to this person. Then contacted her local law enforcement agency. Canada don't take this crap lightly. We forward all the emails to them and then with emails in hand they knocked on her door.

Bitch gave us back our money that day. After 3 weeks of waiting for the 150.00 bucks

If you need more information, PM me.
