I'm at my parents for the holidays. My dad has rush limbaugh on the radio every morning...

I'm trying to make this a pleasant visit so I've been avoiding discussion of politics like the plague.... I've bitten my tongue so much in the past two days it's developed a blister...

Perhaps you could as him to turn off the radio? Nicely - something along the lines of I came to visit you not listen to the radio, which I can do at home?

hugs for support! I will only be at my parents' for a few hours the evening of Christmas and will be lucky to escape without a taunt or jab towards 'libruls' or 'dumbocrats' as my dad likes to call us. Even though it's Christmas, I don't know if I'll be able to hold my tounge. You're stronger than I would be. Don't give up, you can make it!
