Catholic Charities cancels the Village People because they're too gay
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) -- A Catholic Charities fundraising event has decided to play it straight - so the Village People aren't coming to town.

The group was scheduled to perform at Irish Fest in March. But Omaha Catholic Charities executive director Scot Adams said that enough people expressed concerns about appropriateness that the band was canceled.

A lot of people were worried about the band's homoerotic lyrics, Adams said.

Adams and others reviewed some of the band's lyrics before making a final decision, he said.

1. Christ on a crutch. What is the world coming to.
I can't believe that anyone thinks that the Village People are anything but harmless.
