Here's hoping 2006 is better than 2005.
Edited on Sun Dec-18-05 06:05 PM by crispini
Seriously. This year really did suck, both personally, and in a world sense. Katrina and Rita, the Pakistan earthquake, the Christmas tsunami. Not to mention Iraq and of course the natural disaster that is our president. My job was a murky ball of chaos and insanity. My brother moved in with me and has not yet found a job or made any financial contribution to the household and is mostly acting like this is a hotel.

Did everyone else have an equally crappy year or is it just me? Why do world events that are bad upset me, and other people are able to ignore them?

On a positive note, I suppose, I have quit smoking, have started yoga, and have been eating very healthy. I figure I have to learn to cope with stress in a positive mandner or I'll explode. :)

So here's to HOPE.:toast: I hope 2006 will be brighter and shinier and full of joy and positive events.:toast:

6. You have to have hope.
If you don't have hope, then things really suck. :7

3. Oh I had an extrordinarily sad and dissapointing year.
Too many things personally not to mention the earth/weather problems and bush still in office.

So Happy New Year and may it be filled with love and kindness and team work and DEMOCRATS in all of the elections.

9. Life sucks.
I'll hope for the best, but I expect to be a single pathetic emotional cripple until my death.

Which means when the economy disintegrates and we're all in the same toilet; we've got 6~18 months to live.

Enjoy it. Nothing we can do about it. So enjoy it.

12. hang on a minute
Are you the DUer who has been saying he only has six months to live for like the last 7 months, or where is that guy? Or has it only been four months and the end is very, very near?

You can't expect somebody to share your life if you are only seeing the dark side. You are saying "I am unhappy, do you want to be unhappy with me?" Anyway, that is my job as one of those optimists dubbed me "gloom embodied" at the University of Minnesota. If I thought the economy was gonna disintegrate, I would not be going to work tonight. I can live on my savings for 18 months

10. hey we had some kick a$$
election results this year. If we could do that good in 2006.

Kudos to qutting smoking

Your brother should have gotten a seasonal job, or should at least be cutting grass and washing dishes at home. Unless you don't have a lawn.

My year was okay, except for spending a week in the hospital and having my knee go out. On the positive side, my house is paid off and my brother is moving nearby, but debt free and a close brother will both be events of 2006.

We had an anti-gay-marriage amendment rammed through. :(

But hope.

I tried to ignore much of what happened in our world. Instead, I tturned to my faith to help me through.

And on a positive note: DNC chairman Howard Dean! Libhy and DeLay indicted! Bush below 40%! Corzine and Kaine win!

Libby and Delay in stripes -- too nice.

Yes, there were some good things.

Oh, and I just got back from a holiday party and recruited a neighbor to work my precinct. :woohoo:

21. 2005 was a year of disappointment and missed opportunities for me
And it was a tragic year internationally -when the chickens of *'s re-election came home to roost with disastrous and tragic consequences for the US and the world. As long as * is president, it's going to be hard going but let's hope that the next year is better than this one too :toast: :toast:

28. Sucky indeed.
Monumentally life changing, even.

It was the year that I discovered that a lifetime of good health had to end sometime! (One ruptured ovarian tumor in March and an MS diagnosis in June).

It was also the year that I was released from the jail that IS Intervoice (Yay!), but with release came that nagging worry about bills, a new roof, and foundation work. Oh, and possibly a new transmission.

But there were definitely some good developments politically (our Texas gay amendment not among them), and I got inspired to write our family history. I have 300-something pages now! Yay!
