Question for those who have Sirius radio
I'm wondering what is it like? Can you tell me a brief review of your experience with Sirius and also with the other stations. Thanks in advanced.

1. I like it
I was disappointed when they lost Air America but Sirius Left is pretty good.

2. I would love
to have it to hear Stephanie Miller on there and Howard Stern. I also read you can record shows on there. Can you do that? And you have to join the stations right?

3. I don't know about recording
but I would imagine you can always hook up a tape recorder to your radio.

You have to buy a radio and subscribe. It is around $10 a month, depending on how long your subscription is.

4. Aside from having trouble with my radio
There's something wrong with the base or antenna for the car kit and it won't play in my car, but it works great in the house. I love their programming. I'm not too happy that they no longer have AAR and kept advertising it long after it was gone, but for the most part I like.

I happen to be a big college football fan - and their coverage is terrific.

I listen to SIRIUS LEFT, but do miss AAR. Couple of NPR stations, so you can liston to Garrison or Click-n-Clack at various times.

Also, plenty of music variation.

I will remain with SIRIUS.

btw - I have a couple of auto units, a home unit, and 2 "boom-boxes" I enjoy these boomboxes most because they are very portable - whether you listen on the front deck, or camping, or in the garage or . . .

7. Here's the big difference between Sirrus and XM
At least for what I'm looking for should I go satellite. About 6-7 months ago I started looking into getting Satellite Radio. I can't get Air America radio here in Wilmington DE and I am a Howard Stern fan. Figured I'd get Sirrus so I could not only have both of these stations PLUS some great music selections to boot. In fact 6-7 months ago, only Sirrus radio played all of Air America's stations but XM only carried part of it.

But then AAR made a pact to go exclusely with XM radio and thus there was no more AAR found on Sirrus. Now Sirrus does have some liberal talk show programs, but if I'm going to listen to liberal radio I definately would want Al Franken and plus I'd want to support Randi Rhodes & Mike Malloy who have been there since even before AAR (Plus I met Mike Malloy - he's a really great guy!).

So the big thing I'm finding is that both satellite companies offer great exclusive material. It's a matter of figuring out why you're buying Satellite and going with the service that provides what you're looking for. Most people who talk about getting Sirrus are doing so for Howard Stern. To be honest, that would be the only reason I get Sirrus. But to be honest, if I get Satellite I'll probably go with XM so I can have AAR provided I can find an XM receiver NOT made by Delphi.

Here is what Sirrus has for progressive talk radio (Btw, they have TWO conservative talk programs)

Here's XM AAR programming

8. I miss AAR on SIRIUS
but I make up for it by listening on-line when I need a Randi-fix, or Malloy

10. I have Sirius and my best friend has XM. Based on our experiences,
I'll stick with Sirius. I was upset when Air America went exclusive and I truly wish that Sirius would improve Talk Left (get rid of Alex Bennett right now), but I like the other stations better. My best friend agrees. She got XM for a gift, but now wishes she'd gotten Sirius. I like my Sirius car unit better. It's easier to read and has a remote control. The remote may sound frivolous, but it's much easier to flip thru all the stations while driving. My friend has to lean down and take her eyes off the road to fumble with her stations.
