Help! Do you happen to know a country music video that I heard today?
Edited on Sat Dec-17-05 03:18 PM by Radio_Lady
I shed tears at the gym this morning when I heard it! Couldn't actually see the CMT video from the treadmill I was on, so I'm totally in the dark about the artist and name of the song. I don't usually listen to country music at all.

I think the title of the song was "Safe in His Arms" -- but not sure. It's NOT the Gospel song that comes up when I googled that title.

The song was about a girl who is ill -- the doctor tells her something's not right with her blood cells -- red and white -- she wonders if she will get a boy to take her to the dance if she has NO hair. At the end, he takes her and as a bond, he shaves his head! It was just a beautiful song.

Who recorded it? Where can I find out about it?

Thanks so much for being IN THE KNOW!

In peace,

Radio_Lady

5. I've never heard it
I had nothing better to do today but google stuff, but you're right it appears to be named "Skin"

I don't know why it hit me. I haven't lost any relatives recently, my children are all well.

But maybe it was the neighborhood child who grappled with cancer in her back before succumbing in her college years. RIP, Ann C. As I recall, you were either born or died in December, and it brought memories flooding back.

But, on a lighter note -- I married a guy who was deeply into male pattern baldness in the 1970's. He took to wearing a hairpiece for a while, but the tape caused him to break out into a rash. Here's what he did in the 80s, on a lark -- just to be efficient (no haircuts, no shampoo, no conditioners, no hair spray required).

3. I heard it this morning as well...
And I saw the video, but I can't remember who sings it.

6. Rascal Flats from "Feels Like Today"
It's the last track (hidden)

Here are the lyrics:

Lyrics
Sara Beth is scared to death
To hear what the doctor will say
She hasn't been well, since the day that she fell
And the bruise just won't go away

So she sits and she waits with her mother and dad
And flips through an old magazine
Till the nurse with the smile stands in the door
And says will you please come with me

Sara Beth is scared to death
Cause the doctor just told her the news
Between the red cells and white, something's not right
But we're gonna take care of you

Six chances in ten, it won't come back again
With the therapy we're gonna try
It's just been approved, it's the strongest there is
And I think that we caught it in time
And Sara Beth closes her eyes.

Chorus:
And she dreams she's dancing
Around and around without any cares
And her very first love is holding her close
And a soft wind is blowing her hair

Sara Beth is scared to death
As she sits holding her mom
Cause it would be a mistake for someone to take
A bald headed girl to the prom

For just this morning, right here on her pillow
Was the cruelest of any surprise
And she cried when she gathered it all in her hands
The proof that she couldn't deny
And Sara Beth closes her eyes

Chorus:
And she dreams she's dancing
Around and around without any cares
And her very first love is holding her close
And a soft wind is blowing her hair

Bridge
It's quarter to seven, that boy's at the door
And her daddy ushers him in
And when he takes off his cap
They all start to cry
Cause this morning where his hair had all been
Softly she touches just skin

And they go dancing, around and around
Without any cares
And her very first true love is holding her close
And for a moment she isn't scared

7. UPDATE TO ALL: Thank you so very much! Can I download the video?
Edited on Sun Dec-18-05 12:40 AM by Radio_Lady
I have to admit that this radio broadcaster knows absolutely nothing about either viewing or downloading (for a fee) the video of a musical piece.

In peace,

Radio_Lady

PS. I really appreciate you're getting the lyrics up there for me. The DU has never failed me!

Edit: I don't understand iTunes. Is it for MACs only?

A lot of young people were also touched by this song. See the cache at this link:

provided both of those links. I really appreciate your efforts, DeadParrot. (If I would, I'd revive your parrot...)
