I have 2 Swiffer WetJets
and I can't figure out how to change the %$#@! batteries. And yes, I've been to their website. Their so-called easy instructions are a lie.

Help. This is driving me nuts. I stayed home from work to clean my place and I must mop today. The Swiffers are all I have and I refuse to go and by new mop supplies until I figure these out.

Ideas?

1. They are easy to change.
Just take off the plastic piece and slide the batteries out. Replace.

9. There is a little piece of plastic that you mash in and then pull on it
and the plastic piece comes off. The piece is right here.

10. I swear.....neither will come off for me.
Nothing easy about it. Shell Beau.....man do I wish you were down the street for a live demo.

There's that purple-ish button that you push in to release the cleaning fluid. Do you push down on the brighter green piece below the purple button?

I know it should be easy, but it's just not!

:wtf:

It should be below that button that releases the fluid. It is like changing the batteries in a remote control. It is the same concept. You push in (or down) on the little plastic piece that is sticking out and pull towards you. Maybe yours is screwy!! I hope you get it off!! x(

13. Reminds me of a bad joke...
"How many DU'ers does it take to change batteries"?

Answers on the back of a used $20 bill to be mailed to my address please.

Thank you.

14. I really like my Swiffer...
but I read somewhere that a chemical that is used in the Swiffer's can be fatal to your pets. Supposedly the chemical is like antifreeze and can be absorbed thru your pets paws if they step on a freshly wet cleaned floor. I put my girls up when I mop.

15. That is just a rumor!!!
Edited on Mon Dec-12-05 05:13 PM by Shell Beau

From the Swiffer site:
We're glad you came to us for the facts about the rumor circulating. Swiffer Wet cloths and WetJet liquid solution do not contain antifreeze or any ingredient similar to it. In fact, Swiffer products have been safely used in over 15 million U.S. homes--many with pets--for nearly five years.

Independent veterinarians and scientists evaluated the Swiffer Wet Cloths and WetJet cleaners and found them safe. The ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) has even posted information about this rumor on their site. Here's a link to their home page: http://www.aspca.org

We have pets too, and their health and well-being is very important to us. Please help us put animal lovers' minds at ease and stop this rumor by sharing the truth with others.
