West Wing fans: If the Republican wins the upcoming election...
will you still watch the show?

At least Vinick is a moderate Republican, but I really don't know that I'm going to be able to enjoy the show if a Democrat's not the president.

What about you?

1. I'm not sure. I do know that I'm getting a little tired of reliving last
year. I watch that show to escape and to fantasize about having an intelligent liberal in the Oval Office and razor-sharp, smart people backing him up. I'm sick and tired of reliving last year's mess. Although, I did particularly like Leo last night telling Santos that it's not Josh's problem/fault anymore - that it's his. With 6 weeks left, it's up to him and no one else.

2. I would probably still watch it
but I have a feeling that this is going to be its last season anyway.

3. It is not getting renewed
At least that is the current feeling on the fan web boards and spoiler sites. The reason is that the ratings have not gone as high as they hoped with the move to Sunday. They are slightly better than last year, when it was fighting a losing battle against Lost. The move to Sunday 8:00 was supposed to help since it is after 60 minutes and before the HBO dramas start at 9:00, but it has not moved up very much. Also, viewers have not responded well to the Santos character, and Alan Alda reportedly told the producers he was not interested in a full time TV drama role at this point in his career.

In my mind, if Vinick wins, that is the end of the series. If Santos wins, they may try to get one more season from NBC to prove themselves or move over to syndication.

Either way, I am about done. I taped the wedding last night and will watch it tonight, but I am getting close to being over with this show. I like the way it hits current issues, but these characters have run their course.

4. I wasn't aware of its current questionable status.
Thanks for the information!

5. Sure
I'm both sad and happy. I hate seeing a once great show failing to carry on, but I also wish it was still a great show. this year has been the best of the post-sorkin years, but it is not the same show without him.

7. Of course. Probably watch more
To watch the Repuke fuck everything up, get caught in a huge scandal, and end up in one of those jailhouse marriages.

8. i will, if only for loyalty's sake
I like Vinick and wouldn't mind him as president, as long as he stays moderate and keeps his opposition to the christian right. It would also seem wrong just to walk away after loyally following it for 7 years, I'd want to see it through to it's death, which will probably come next season anyway.

I'd really want to see how they treat it. Maybe they'd give Vinick a Terri Schiavo-type thing to deal with. That'd fire up the Hawkeye in him.

:woohoo:

Edit: "Terry." :eyes:
