I took a "personal day" off of work today
because I'm exhausted. My job has me working 6 days a week right now and evenings - in addition to my usual 8-5. All in all, averaging about 70 hours a week. I'm done. I'm exhausted. So I took today off today. How do I stop checking my Treo? My co-workers and manager keep emailing me. Don't they get the concept of a day off? No. Apparently they don't get it.

I'm going to send an email warning them that I will not be carrying my Treo the rest of the day.

Sadly, I didn't take the day off so that I could go out and do something fun, I took it off so that I can clean my apartment and tackle the mountain of laundry!

1. I love my Treo...
I took the day off on Friday, because my car wouldn't make it thru the snow drifts in our road. Today is my 1st day back and of course I'm getting the cold shoulder from those who made it to work on Friday. Know what??? I don't care...

2. That's the attitude!
I'm seriously going to leave it at my apartment and leave for the day. Right after I finish the laundry. Why the hell do we get so addicted to the Treo?

4. Did you employer ever ask you for the reason for taking a "Personal day"?
I got in an argument with one of the HR people when I asked for a personal day and they needed to know the reason why. I told them its personal and this twit still needed a reason, for the records. I kept saying "Its personal" and I dont need to give you a reason. This went on for several minute like an Abbott and Costello act befoe she gave up and wrote "no reason" in the space provided.
If its "Personal", I'm not telling an HR twit why.

6. At my company, it's sort of a don't ask, don't tell policy on
personal days. We are allowed a couple per year.

5. I'm no expert
but it seems to me that your average Treo has an off button...or at least the ability to hide it under the couch...
