Merlin is too fat to climb the "decoration"..formerly known as the Christ-
mas tree...so instead... he climbs up on the arm of the couch, leans out as far as he can and stuffs his face into it. All the while Jessie (sheltie) looks at him like he is insane. The tree smells like oranges (concolor) and I think that is what is intriguing him this year. :hi:

I also noticed, after him being around for 14 years, that when you scratch a spot on his back, he licks his lips compulsively. It's quite funny...until he bites me. :hi:

1. Yeah, I love the lip-licking spot.
Lisa's cat Papa is extremely funny when he does it since he has no teeth, and his tongue just flicks wildly. :hi:

2. I only just noticed it last night. I wonder why they do that.
That would be funny to see a cat with no teeth do it. Does he lower his head and then attempt to bite? I wonder if it's overstimulation. :hi:

3. Yeah, he bites (sort of).
It's weird. My own cat Max does it too. He licks his lips convulsively, bites my hand, and then licks it before restarting the process. :D

4. Merlin will do the licking thing, start licking a piece of my clothing...
then attempt to take a hunk out of me. It's odd.

5. At least Merlin isn't drooling all over you
I just need to hit Abbott in the right spot with petting and the damn cat becomes a drool factory.

6. Merlin can be a drooler at times. With his advancing age, sometimes
he has problems keeping his mouth closed. Lately it's been,"Let's play 'Sneeze in Mama's face!'" and he only does it to me. :hi:
