Good Monday Morning, Everybody!
:donut::hi:
Here we are at the start of another work week! Monday. The dreaded Monday. I hope you had a great weekend and had lots of fun and excitement! I haven't started my Christmas shopping yet, but I know what I'm going to buy so it's just a matter of going to the mall and buying it. Where are YOU on your shoppring list?

1. Good morning
I am ALMOST done with my shopping for Christmas presents. Just a couple missing.

I had a good weekend. Yesterday was such a beautiful day that I actually went for a walk and took my camera with me. Maybe a couple good pics came out of it.

I just took one film to get developed during my lunch break, I will have the pics in two days. The other film is still in the camera. I have to decide to either lose 6 pics or to use them at Christmas. I will probably just kill the 6 pictures left.

But I couldn't get to sleep until about 2 this morning - that's after being woken at 6 on Sunday as well (though I did get some sleep afterwards). I had coffee earlier (that was definitely needed) with my breakfast.

The idea of sitting with you stops it seeming like Monday. :D  :loveya:

30. Yes - always read.
and then try to doze off with some soothing music (renaissance polyphony is good for this).

Last night I finished a fascinating book about 1603 - that's when James VI of Scots became James I of England. It was looking at the switch from the still fairly mediaeval Tudor world to the Early-modern world of the Stuarts; along with all of cultural issues around at the time.

36. Hmmm...that's interesting...
I like sci-fi, myself. Currently, I'm reading an "alternative" history of King Arthur and Merlin. The story opens with Merlin's mother who lives on the island of Atlantis. It goes through the destruction of Atlantis with her making her way to England and marrying Taliesin, Merlin's father....it's quite an interesting story...

I don't tend to go in for the "light" version of anything.

The story line of your books rings a bell in the deep recesses of my mind - what's the name of the book? I may have read it.

48. It's a 5 book series...
It starts with "Taliesin", then "Merlin", then "Arthur", "Pendragon" and finally "Grail". They are by Stephen R. Lawhead.

55. Yes - that's it.
Though when I read it it was still a trilogy (a wee while ago).

Personally I expect Arthur to return sometime soon - it is said that he will come back at the time of England's greatest need, and, well, look at our current P.M.

Here's to the "once and future King".

The first thing I read about him was "Le Morte D'Arthur" by Malory. Boy was THAT a hard couple of books to read!

67. The stories are wonderful.
One of the fascinating things is that it now appears that Arthur was a genuine British King - not necessarily the figure of legend, but almost certainly a local ruler down in Cornwall.

11. Hey Clintmax! Good Morning....
...I'm waiting for my last payments to clear on my credit card debts, before I start charging more on this unnecessary Christmas stuff. It always amazes me that we will spend X amount on people, while they will spend X amount on us. So the net sum is, nobody is really getting anything. It's money coming in, money going out. Why not just everybody keep their own money, and spend it on what they want, and just get together in friendship on the holidays, if they feel a need to do so....

How are you? Did you have yesterday off? I started and finished (mostly) my shopping Saturday. I hit the shopping groove and was very efficient. Sometimes it works that way and sometimes it is impossible. Now I am dodging doing the wrapping and shipping.

70. Hello
I'll try to look in from time to time to keep up with my favorites. So you don't need to worry about hearing from me. :loveya:

I also read the first book in the series Clint mentioned. My library is full of books about Arthur, the older legends and some discussing evidence of the historical figure. I visited a site in Wales where they said Arthur and his knights slept in a cave beside Llyn Ogwen. I suspect every shire and county may have such a site. But I haven't entirely given up the belief that he will come again.

I have a slide I took the night I camped alone on Castell y Gwynt. I still haven't figured out how to scan or digitize a slide.

See you next time I turn my back on my work!

66. Good Monday Morning Clintmax.
Have done squat on shopping so far, starting to feel very, very anxious. Did go to a Christmas concert yesterday afternoon (Richmond Men's Chorus) which got me in the spirit though.
