3. I watched with paper bag nearby, just in case....
Listened to the Packers network on my drive down here. They were asking "should the Pack lose the last 4 games, in order to get a better draft pick?"

I guess we won't be getting Reggie Bush.

I have not given up hope on winning the division outright...2 of the last 3 are at home, and da Bears are the last game (on our turf).

19. He saved his job for the moment
I think if we do not make the playoffs, or we do not go far in the playoffs, Tice will be gone. Other than Brad Johnson, I think the thing that got stabilized was the defense. And Tice is more of an offense guy, so I know he had nothing to do with that.

He is dumber than a brick. (I have met and conversed with him in person).

I saw something on the TV that made me laugh my you know what off...in the corner at the Metrodome, there was one of those banners (done by the team, I am sure), it said something to the effect of "Tice Academic Squad" or some-such. :banghead:

102. No big mystery, no big spectacular story.
I'm United Methodist, serving in WI. Hence, the clever screen name.

My personal motto is "be real." People describe me as "down to earth." And the finest compliments I ever get are when people say "you're not like any other minister I know" (in a good way).

Most clergy have great humor in them... but they're afraid to let their inner child come out and play. It's a shame.

106. Thanks, Rev. I have a couple of tentative links to WI:
My high School Fight Song was "On, Wisconsin".
When I was a student at Northwestern {1969}, I saw
A Wildcat running back, Mike Adamle, run for more than
300 yards against the Badgers.

I have the sense I would enjoy your service.

108. I hope so.
It's what I call "casual liturgical" - dignified, but not stuffy. Full of energy and life, and (hopefully) words of grace. I don't write my sermons - they come from my heart, and I walk among the congregation. No notes (I learned a long time ago that if I gave up reading anything, the people are more likely to stay awake!)

Oh yeah, sermons are 15 minutes, tops, and in the middle of the service. I hate the 1/2 hour sermon at the end... as if anything I could say would be important enough to warrant that. :eyes:

It's kind of amusing, how little the disruptor knows beyond his genitalia... Sad, really.

In his case, I think the old saying about the blood supply being insufficient to feed both brain and genitals is true....

52. Not bad.
I'm at Mom & Dad's. Tomorrow is the meeting with hospice. Hopefully, there will be no surprises.

But hey - the Packers won! :bounce:

60. Nope - for my mom.
She has a chronic lung disease, and congestive heart failure.
But hospice isn't necessarily a death sentence. For her, it's that she's surpassed the intermediate level of care that this place can give her (without moving her to the nursing home unit). With hospice, she will be able to stay here in the apartment, and have her pain monitored more closely.

Dad's about worn out, trying to care for her. He needs the help, too.

66. It's good that she can have that care she needs.
They're very fortunate to have you looking out for them. Thankfully my parents are able to get up and around somewhat but I don't know how long that will be either. It's really eye-opening how the years fly by and how those people who raised you have just aged right before your eyes. I hope your mom is comfortable and your dad gets a break.

71. Thanks.
It's still tiring, because they're 3 hours away, and I can't always get away when I'd like to. But fortunately, the church people are very understanding, and know that my parents have to come first. (my only brother lives in PA, so it's up to me to help out when I can.)

77. Oh man Rev.
That would be exhausting. Even if they lived right in your area it would be a fair amount of work somedays. I'm fortunate enough to have two sisters who live reasonably close to my parents. I salute you for all you do. :)

I'm cycling from weekend relaxation to work-school-plays - practices -and just keep the house OK. I need little sleep, and Sunday is my transition time. I am generally up late.

109. I have a housekeeper on Tues and Fri, but she just can't DO IT
She is really sweet, has 3 kids, is at least 100 lbs overweight. It takes her 6 hours to clean our 2500' house. She is incapable of independant thought. She has an IQ likely in the 80-90 range. I have refered her to 4 friends - all but 1 has already fired her.

But I TRUST her. She has a good soul. I'll keep her and make up the slack myself.

PS - my last housekeeper was named California Woman of the Year http://www.mv-voice.com/morgue/2003/2003_03_28.dworker.html I see her every couple of weeks and we can be subversive together.

SHE ROCKS :yourock:
