I'll be minutes away from the Reagan Library next month
For 3 weeks in January, my next phase of training puts me just minutes away from the Patron Saint of Drooling Dementia's shrine/propaganda complex, in Ventura County, CA.

I need a few ideas on some tokens I can leave with visitors of the library/infotainment center to reveal his REAL LEGACY, and not the manufactured one his failed wreck of a presidency left us.

I figure some blank index cards, a Bitburg Nazi wreath, or a reproduction of Ed Meese's secret porn collection...?

Any ideas?

6. They are both worshipped by the same ilk
Reagan gave us Osama. Reagan brought the RW fundies into the political mainstream. Reagan's anti-intellectualism paved the way for the current occupant's celebration of it. Reagan's shadow looms large over the malfeasance festering over America today. And on, and on.

I believe Reagan was kicked in the head by his horse a time or two.

12. so why the hell are you arguing with me...
 i'm merely saying that of the two reagan is clearly the more genuine...such as it is & sad case though that may be. i was living here in cali when he was governor, and it was not an easy time. by the time he hit the national stage he was well passed whatever may have passed as plausibly deniable. at least after lebanon he was shrewd enough to understand it was time to leave.

this guy; this bush guy ain't even that fucking smart. to that extent it is almost apples & oranges. leaving you this single word...

13. I am not arguing
I just have such an intense loathing of Reagan, I am reluctant to give him any credit for anything. I resist comparing him to Chimpy because I don't think things are REALLY that much different today than they were in the 80's.

My ire is not directed at you, only him. :-)

3. Something that would commemorate Iran-Contra in some way.
I'd say leave a small vial of confectioner's sugar to mimic coke but this day of anthrax scares that would be way to risky.

4. Go to Santa Barbara!
GOPisEvil and I just got back. There's a seafood restaurant on State Street, by the pier called Enterprise Seafood. Oh. My. God. Melt in your mouth swordfish and mahi mahi. And very reasonably priced.

Otherwise, best of luck to ya! ;)

16. My old stomping grounds (sigh) I miss Ventura County
I don't have any advice about what to leave at the library, but if you like BBQ, be sure to check out Wood Ranch in Moorpark which is just a few miles from the library. Their Tri Tip and rib combo is excellent. Their french fried onion appetizer isn't healthy, but I've never been able to find any equivalent.
