31. Actually for southern california it's been pretty chilly
It goes down into the 40s at night.

Hey, we aren't used to that here! Our homes have little to no insulation.

But I'm not complaining...it just gives me an excuse to snuggle under a blanket with my honey.

23. Oh puhleeze Louise,
You Texans are such wimps when it comes to winter weather:evilgrin: Up here in Missouri we woke up to six degrees, and it hasn't gotten above seventeen all day, and we're getting snow tonight.

What really gets me is that down there in Texas they're not putting insulation in apartment building wall, thus the pipes freeze when it gets to 31. I just don't get that, not only will that insulation save you some frozen pipes, but it saves on your cooling bill in the summer.

One thing I am glad about, I'm glad I'm not driving through Texas right now. You folks freak when it rains, I'd hate to think what happens when there is a little ice or snow.

But good luck, drive carefully, and stay warm. And hey, if you want some real winter weather sometime, come on up to Missouri.

PS, know that I'm just kidding you a bit.

33. I think most weather folks are idiots.
The ones around here have a tendency to underestimate. One year we had a two foot snow dump that started out as "only one-two inch accumulation". We're supposed to get 2-4 inches from that system coming out of Texas, so we'll see, it will probably be a foot or more.

I'm hoping for some serious snow this winter. I bought a snow blade for my little tractor and we didn't get anything worth a damn last winter. I paid for it, damnit I want to use it before global warming does away with winter completely.

And hey, if you want some to play in the snow, c'mon up some time. My wife and I have eight acres of woods to play winter wonderland in, though sadly we don't have a good sledding hill on the property. We do have a pond to ice skate on though.

Stay warm, and stay safe.

55. I know about the insulation thing
None of the apartments I have had here in S. Texas have good insulation which means running the a/c when you don't really want to because it is o stuffy inside or running the heat when you don't really need it either. Although, personally I prefer the temps to be around 70 inside.

When the wind hits your face it feels like getting bitch-slapped with a bag of frozen peas.

Quite chilly. Although I don't know why I complain. When I was growing up in Anchorage, Alaska the school refused to let us stay in for recess unless it was at least 10 degrees below zero.
