Anyone here know how easy it is to open a European Bank account?

I'm thinking of transferring all our funds to a Euro Account (in Euros of course) for several reasons:

1 - The dollar is losing value on a daily basis

2 - LaraMN's story points out how little control you have over your funds in a US bank account

3 - A European bank account will help one gain residency later should I feel the need to move there

Anyone out there do this?
